Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
you have to be able to go with the flow. i was not a go with the flow person before this.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hey Kim, good to hear from you. Morgan posted his e-mail on MySpace, so I'll shoot him a note soon. Kyle is still in Iraq, hopefully home in Aug - Sept. sometime. Everyone's is doing fine....Rachael will probably be moving back home soon, she wants to get back in school. Sarah just moved to WA state with her Coast Guard boyfriend. So kind of crazy. These months in the war zone on wearing on us all but Erin and baby are doing okay. He just turned a year old last month and is the love of my life. Such a cutie! Thank God for telephone cards and internet. Kyle calls and posts photos from Iraq. It's good to see what he's doing but hard that he is in such a place...Not much else is new. Hope all is well with you, the grandbaby and the family. Give our best to everyone and keep in touch.

Kim, how great to hear from you! We try to stay in touch with Morgan via MySpace. The grandbaby is beautiful! It took me awhile to get used to the idea, but we are just over the moon about our little one. He'll be a year old already in June! Kyle is in Iraq....very worrisome...but he's doing what he loves which is working in a shock/trauma unit. He says it's boring over there and I hope it stays that way! Keep in touch! Love hearing how Morgan is doing. I think he made the right decision about his life when he enlisted.

Hi Kim,
Ashley has been on the GW all most 2 years and has two years to go. Like your son she is thiniking about re-enlisting if they will send her back to the states. Email me you son's last name (since that is all they use on the ship) I will ask Ashley if she knows him. Like you I was frantic for those 4 days between the CNN story and her calling home. I guess a sailor on the other ship they were refueling took the pics and sent them to CNN, the Navy didn't want anybody to know about it, especially Japan. That video caused another court battle in Japan to allow them to dock there. Write mem anytime, it's so nice to be able to talk to moms in the same position. It seems like most of the postings are BC and A school moms.

Hi Kim,
What a beautiful grandchild you have! My daughter is a DCFN (fire fighter/Damage control) on the GW. It's nice to meet other moms with sailors on the same ship. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I had forgotten that I posted that discussion on the Carrier page. I always go straight to the GW and Japan pages.
Have a great week!

Hi Kim, wow small world! What is your daughter's name? I have another son at the school. His name is Jarrod. I saw somewhere on the website that a mom was wanting to get together with other mom's in this area on Feb 28th at Panera bread near the mall. But not sure if that's still going to happen.
