Lyn, I live 2 hours South of Great Lakes. If your boys only want to do a day trip they could share Thanksgiving with my family. I'd offer they could stay over, but I won't have room. :*( My parents, sisiter and her family will be staying with me.....

Karen, if your car isn't drivable see if your insurance or the kid's insurance will give you a car rental. We just had someone hit our car and we're getting a rental while it's being repaired. :) Good Luck!!

My husband and I also have a daughter. She just graduated from high school and plans to attend college in Nashville this fall.

I know you said sometime ago that your daughter was the FRG president. I have tired to e-mail her but it seems that I'm not getting through as I have not gotten any response. I have questions and I'm afraid that at this point it will be to late to get anything out to Hawaii on time. Being n the east coast I feel so left out of the loop of whats going on.

tks, kimmy, my pea brain was not thinking about the mulitude of Sailors on the ships. i only bought 4 ornaments. I was thinking if they go on sale i can get more and they can use them as decoration, what do you think. This project is so huge , im overwhelmed. I did what one mom suggested, she put a box of cards on her desk and co workers can get one and write someting, give it back to her to mail.(i read that on one of the groups not sure which one) If it is not too late i thought about asking other organizations to help, and my church. all this takes time. From what i read, it looks like a lot of moms are over getting certain items? I would not be able to commit to that large of a project, but i want to give as much as i can. tks for your help-Marilyn

Hi Kimmy P, Glad to have you as a friend. Yes, her dad and I are really proud of Alexis. But, I'm scared for her too. The not knowing is whats going to kill me. Wondering if she is safe and not hurt. But, they say you get use to it after a time. So I hope I do. I will miss her so bad. Your son has been in for a long time. Does he like it? I hope Alexis likes it after she gets in there. There is nothing around here for kids to do. Jobs are hard to fine and in collage all they do is drink. I just want the best for her and I think the Navy is the best chance for her right now. Hi Kimmy P, I requested you as a friend. I'm a step-mom from Quincy, IL. My step daughter Alexis is leaving for BC on January 20, 2010. So I don't have a child in yet but she will be in soon. I wanted to get to know moms before she went in so I joined early to meet people. I'm going to the Meet & Greet in Bloomington, IL too. Can't wait to meet all the moms and put faces to the names.
