Chris is leaving tonight and now it looks like Iraq! UGH! First they said back in May, now they are saying August. Putting him on that plane tonight is going to be tough.
Hopefully we see him again before he leaves in January. Keep in touch and let me know what is going on with Jake.

Hi Lori- Yes Chris is leaving in 10 days for VA where he will get additional training before being deployed to Kuwait Jan 2nd. Not sure what he will be doing there yet.
Wouldn't it be great if he and Jake ended up working together? I wish Chris was not going, but what can you do....it is what he signed up for. Well keep in touch and let me know more about Jake as you find out.

Lori, If I had looked back on my comments I would have seen we had already discussed our sons being in the same division and knowing each other. I sometime repeat the same info to people here at home too.

Lori, I hope Jake gets the position with the Police department. I am sure he can pass their Physical Ability test as he certainly did well at boot camp. Hans had hoped to be at Norfolk as he eventually wants to go to a law school in Virginia Beach. It was hard for all of us to say goodbye on April 1. I said it was a mean April Fool's Day joke. He may be stationed on his ship out of Japan for three years. You get use to your sailor being gone but you still miss him or her. We received a phone call last Friday morning and some emails since he left. It sound like Hans is doing well. This will be a great experience for him. He told us in an email that he met a friend from A school plus a RTC, though not from his division on the ship. I think his being gone is hardest on his sister as they are really close. Hans did his share of teasing Heidi before he left knowing he won't be doing that for a long time. Heidi turn 18 in December while Hans was at boot camp. I wish the best for Jake in all that he does.

Lori, your son Jake was in the same division at boot camp as my son Hans. I could definately tell by your photos especially with the one with one of their RTC in it. We have a similar one of Hans. We have a photo of Hans on my page and if Jake saw it he would know who Hans is. I think you knew Hans was sent to Japan. He left April 1. He is out on the USS Essex. Hans said he met a friend from A School on the ship and also a RTC from another division.

Lori,

Sorry i have not returned you email, We have been very busy. I wanted to wish Jake a big congrats on his graduation on Friday. March 27th . I hope he comes home to see you all before he has to leave for his duty station. We leave in Florida, having Jared in San Antonio, feels like he is really far away. I am glad they created cell phone. We think he will be home around April 24 and they he will be in Kings Bay, GA, which is only an 8 hour trip for us. If Jakes joins the police department, he will think he is back in boot camp all over again. Enjoy your time with your son. I have to get back to work.

After "A" School he will have orders to his next command. Normally he will be allowed leave between his "A" School and his first duty station (if he has days on the books) it is his choice where he goes when he goes on leave. He could go to Canada as long as the proper paper work is filled out and he was given the leave dates.

Does that answer your question?

Lori,

Well OC is over and they all pass. Jared said it really hurt, and the baby shampoo did not help. He called us talking a million miles a minute.
