Hello, Maggie! What a wonderful surprise!! i was a little surprised to get your friendship request because i don't think that we have talked!
i have read your blog above about your son Stephen and will keep him (and You) in my thoughts and prayers. Have you read Psalm 91? It is a very powerful verse and your son can claim the promise in it for himself and his whole company. Many have done just that and come through battles completely unscathed.
Blessings on you and your family.

Just stopped by to "Hi". Have'nt talked in a while, hope all is going well with Stephen. how is he doing? Justin is doing well. Got a call from him this morning actually. YYYAAAAYYYY!!!! yeah, i know what an Easter present HuH?! we got to talk to him for about 30 minute's which was GREAT for all of us. His sister was'nt here at the house when he called (bummer) but Me & his dad (my husband) were! We have'nt gotton to hear his voice for proably a little over a month now so it was good to hear it, alway's is though! He's just doing the "normal stuff". Just told him to be careful & watch his back~that's about all we can do and PRAY! Know that you and your family~(& a little extra one for Stephen)are alway's in my Prayer's. If you ever need to talk~I'm here! Luv & Hug's~M
Hi Maggie, good morning! And~ MyHotComments Thank You for the welcome back! man what a long two and a half week's it's been. We had our real BIG ice storm on Jan 27th, lost power that morn. around 11:00 a.m. that nite was when all heck broke loose. The tree's started breaking from the weight of the Ice. They were falling on everything around here. Garage, carport, house~our yard was destroyed. I had never seen anything like this except on T.V. from the weather channel showing other state's. Our daughter's truck was damaged (hood caved in) on another truck we had a windshield broke and some bed damage. We moved our bed's from the house out to the garage because that was the only place that had heat. One of those ventless gas wall heater thing's We heat our house with Propane but it has one of those Digital thermostat's and it does'nt do much good when the power goe's out. Still had water~hot water heater is gas (thank god). How we heated the bathroom was by on of those bottle's of gas that you see on gas grill's and my husband put some kind of a blower thing on it~all i know is it worked pretty good. Some nite's it got down to around 9 degree's, windchill's 0. It stayed real warm in the garage, i was surprised. Cooked on a grill most of the time. The National Guard came in i think it was like two day's after the storm and started handing out food and water to people. We were all right for about the first week or so on food and all then we had to get some of those "Heater Meal's EX" their called. The military uses them alot. they are those meal's that have those little heat pad looking thing's in them and you add water to it and it almost instantly start's getting hot~Great Stuff!!! tasted good to. and it was HOT to. But, it was two week's to the day when we got our power back on, I was glad! Excited!! Then two day's later they turned our phone, internet &satelite back on (our's is in a package thing).
I am so glad that you have gotton to talk to your Son. You say he's doing good huh? glad to hear it. I heard from mine over the course of the time we were without power. went to the libary and used their computer (had power back on before we did) he is doing good also, said he was just really tired. He's on something called the quick reaction force. as you said earlier good to hear their voice!! I'm also glad to hear your feeling better to!!
Well, gonna go for now. TTYL. Luv & Hug's~M God Bless You and Family!
Hey Rascal...........I'm here..............sometime. Always glad to have a new friend. At this point in our Country it's imperative that all good men step forward..........agreeing/not agreeing...........it's our time. Could be as important as the Revolution against England before the Civil War...........I'm steppin forward.........in my Red Neck down home Two Steppin' best. Hope to see you soon. You've the hardest job..............My thoughts are with you and with your family.
Hi Maggie, Just dropping by to say "hope you have a good day". I probly made thing's worse for you with all my rambling about "code's" and all. It's not hard, you just have to get the hang of it. TTYL.
Hi Maggie, I think Knitting would be a good idea that's something i dont even know how to do! Might be something i need to look into myself. I'm layed off from my job right now. Me and my husband both work at the the same place (a window factory) he's not layed off, this is our slow time of the year. I should be back to it though in prbly 5 or 6 wk's. Hopefully, because after a while there's only so much you can do around a house. Know what I mean? LoL O.k. Now on to what you were asking me earlier about my music and the graphic's (decorating). At the bottom of where my music box thing is there is a little box that say's "create your free playlist", left click on that and it will take you to the Playlist.com site~once you get there in the bottom left corner you will see a pink looking box that say's "sign-up" left click on that and it will guide you from there on what else to do. When it come's to getting the code at the end (once you've picked song's, color of your board, etc.) left click on the code to highlite it, then right click (a little box will come up that say's a couple of thing's) left click on copy. Now your code is "copied". Go to your Navy for MoM's page. Anywhere that you physically typed in stuff about yourself~"about me" I was proudest of my child when" any of those place's, scroll down to the very bottom of that one little box left click, then right click once ( that box with all that stuff will come back up again) then left click on "paste". And your code should be there in that box! You will only see a bunch of letter's there.scroll down to the very bottom your page and click the save box. It will be at the very bottom!
Now, for the Graphic's. You do the same process to get the code's for them to. Alot of the Graphic's you will click on them and it will pop up or some of the code's are at the bottom of the graphic~it will say "get the code". Just left click on that. Some of the graphic site's i use are:
1. www.commentcherry.com
2.www.glitter-graphics.com/
3.www.pyzam.com
4. www.hotcomments.com
Well, I hope i was of some help to ya! Let me know how it goes for you. TTYL
Hi Maggie, It's o.k. about not getting right back to me :) I have those day's myself at time's and my son has been gone now for 5 month's. I am so Happy that you got to talk to your Son!!! It make's all the difference. Glad to hear he is doing good. I have'nt talked to my Son in a few week's But, I did just an email the other day with some new picture's that he sent me. Make's me feel a little closer. That's where i got my new profile pic from. We get more email's than phone call's. My Son move's around sometime's. I know how you feel about the Missing them thing. I dont think that feeling will ever go away~I know it has'nt for me yet and it's been 3 yr's now that my son has been in the Navy. To tell you the truth, the void will never be gone But, as thing's and time goes on it will ease. I think that's just part of being a mother. The thing I try to keep in my head and remember is the adult and Great choice that my son has decided to make for his future. I know the New's thing is crazy at time's, that's why my husband (Justins dad) watches it and informs me of anything i might need to know~work's out better that way! Well, I will let you go for now, if you need someone to talk to, like i said before, give me a holler. God Bless you and your Family! glitter-graphics.com
Hi Maggie, I was just reading your post. My Son also is on the sand in Iraq, "somewhere". My son does some moving around, cant really say what he does. I know i just cant say here on this site. I know exactly how you feel. My son has been gone now about 5 month's. Will be gone for about 10 to 12 more. His order's when he left were for 12-15 month's. He has been on one deployment already (Jan07-Sept07) it was a carrier though~USS John C. Stennis. I worry more with this deply. than i did with the other one. I just take it one day at a time and PRAY as i go!!! When did your Son leave? Well, if you need someone to talk to give me a holler. God Bless Your Son and Your Family!

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted, Overseas
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO LET THEM GO NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT HURTS. I AM VERY PROUD OF MY SON. AND IN MY HEART HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY LITTLE BOY.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made
