Margaret, believe it or not, BC will fly by. I thought the same but even Chris, my son, said he was surprised also. But, he said he didn't want to do it again! He was 31 and was really in shape so that helped...he was nicknamed "the old man" . Anyway, just flood your recruit with letters and cards. I used any card that I could find that was funny. That made him grin even more. Our household relys on humor. My husband was a firefighter/paramedic, my son was a cop, I was a police dispatcher until I had my second child and now my daughter is a police dispatcher. So humor is the way we deal with stuff. So if you find something funny, send it. It really does break up their day. Have a good week. Ruth

HEy Margaret, Just seen you are from GA and specifically Marietta! I am also - which high school district are you in? We have families in Lassiter, Pope and soon to be Sprayberry and we get together for lunch, etc.

Wanted to let you know that we are having a picnic in East Cobb on Aug. 22nd, perhaps you can bring the family and come join us. Also we have a Georgia family group...just go to groups and enter Georgia, there are a 150 plus families waiting to meet you!

Hey Margaret,

I've only just now started seeing your name pop up in the blogs and note you are in Marietta! I am here in Powder Springs. My son, John, is DIV 273, Ship 13. Let's introduce ourselves! gonemad is also here in atlanta. maybe we can get together sometime. have you joined the Georgia group? They are having an event in a marietta park after we get back from PIR - I think 8/25. It's amazing to me how our kids are growing and expanding themselves and in this unique circumstance - we get to go along for the ride - any other job our kids would take - there wouldn't be this. Hello Margaret! :-) kat

We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
