About me:
My oldest, Alex just left for Great Lakes training August 15th. His Dad (USMC MCAGCC 29 Palm, Ca.) was sent to Iraq 2 weeks after Alex was born. I wasn't very happy with his descision to join the military, but , hopefully he will get all of what he wants out of this experiance.
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
When I see the look on his face the next time, I will see everything I need to learn about his experiance in the Navy.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience

PIR

Well, I MADE IT!! It was the most wonderful, precious moment I've had in years!!!!!!!
The icing on the cake was seeing my sons effort to try to spend as much time with me as possible.
We went to a local pizza parlor that night for dinner (they went above & beyond for us!, looks like an old airplane hanger inside!)
Alex said "Mom, of all the people I wanted to see here, I wanted to see you the most. I missed you the most. I cant believe you actually made it. AND YOU WERE ON TIME!!!!!"
I'm sti… Continue

Maureen, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have not been on the site for awhile. Have been busy learning a new job and I learned recently that Matthew is to be deployed in March so I have been really down in the dumps and feeling sorry for myself. Where do you live now and what is bringing you to the Shelby area? Would like to hear from you and promise not to be so absent from the site. Cindy.

How nice Maureen, another ET in the house. We have the same thing going on here, my husband was an FC for 10 years and our son is following in his foot steps. He is so proud!

They have alot of ETs and FCs waiting for classes to begin now, the problem is there have SO many of them. There are no classroom available. They are trying to push the existing students out to make room for the new. I believe they have a graduation every Friday morning. Our son is due to graduate on Dec. 2nd but is determined to finish sooner. Most of the program is self-paced so some finish faster than others. I just know I will be happy to see him wrap it up.....he started school...in April!

Welcome Maureen, wanted to stop by and welcome you to the AE/CF group. Will Alex be an ET or FC? Our son has been at A school since April and is ALMOST done in GL! There is alot of group support in the group, please let us know what questions you may have.

Maureen did you go to PIR? Haven't seen anything new on here from you. Is everything okay? Just checking in with you. Hope to hear from you soon.

How are things going for you? Have you been able to talk to Alex at all. I have not talked to my alex since week 2 and it's almost over. I hate that he has not called, the last call day he was having his wisdom teeth removed and was not able to make his call. I hope to hear from him before graduation next week. Hope all is well with you.
