For those who wish to help those sailors in need when having to travel far from home or base!
Hi Yvonne, Alex got his insurance through USAA, they have great rates for military, but I think the vehicle has to be in his name. He has full coverage and has a payment through navy federal, his rates are $185 a month, a far cry from everyone else…
My son went to bootcamp then he is in A school in Pensacola, fl. He came home for christmas and bought a truck, he drove it back to base and is allowed to have it. they go through phases during school. when they get to the next phase they earn more…

Well I am halfway home from finally seeing my Sailor. What a great visit. The graduation was great, and even better when we got to actually hug him he told us that his orders changed and he was leaving saturday @ 8 am instead of friday agter graduation. We were so happy that we had the day to spend with him. Then today we met up with him at the airport and sat with him till his flight was boarding. I really am so glad that they changed his departure time. It made the trip so much more enjoyable.… Continue

letters
Well, I have finally received letters from my son. I was just thrilled to hear from him. Mostly positive, some negative, food, recruits getting in trouble and making everyone have to do extra pt. He has just finished his 2nd week at basic and is anxious for graduation. He has found out that he will graduate then ship that day. I am hating that, as we are driving up for graduation and will not get to spend much time with him. He was pretty depresed about that. Anyway, I never thought it would be… Continue

She said she figured it was just an opeing line so she sat and talked to him for awhile. She said he's one of the few really nice guys she has talked to in a while...... Well, I'm on the way out the door to Georgia, trouble with my son who graduated army boot camp 10-10-08. His orders got messed up and he is in limbo and living in the drill Sgt office for now. He is very bummed and depressed and begged me to come. So I am heading out on a 14 hr drive to rescue him for the weekend!! Kids, gotta love em!! laura

I just got home late last night. We didn't leave Chicago until Tuesday morning. I left Georgia last night after dropping off Ben's girlfriend and I finally made it home. Ben is at Corey Station in Pensacola now. He calls everyday too. Has Alex heard anythng about when school starts?

- She just called a few minutes ago and said hse is on luch from finance class. So, good, they do know each other!! She also said they are on lock down this weekend because 31 people are in trouble for underage drinking!! Wow......laura

- No, her last name is Garcia. Tell Alex she was is little older than the other girls, Kathryn is 25. How is Alex doing? Is he at A school already? Kathryn is in Pensacola and the view out her window is the beach, way cool!! laura
