Thanks everyone for all the wonderful comments. I agree that Kara has got the most Aunts ever!!! I'll relay all the comments to Becca while she's in the hospital and I'm sure she will get on for herself once she's home. Thanks again.

Okay, I put a couple more pics of Kara on my page and it should be set for all to see. I'm sure Becca will post more once she is out of the hospital and back home.

Hello, I just read your comment about what the recruiter told you. I just wanted to scream. My daughters recruiter was a big idiot and gave me so much wrong info, so hearing your story brought all of it back. Anyways, sorry about that, just venting. No it is not true that you will only get grad day to see him (unless he is a grad and go) if not then you will have Saturday approx 7am-8pm and the same on Sunday. Now he may have watch duty during that time so you will have to drop him off for that time period and then he will be yours again. The fact that he has never heard of a grad n go is unbelievable to me. Hope this helps

Hi & welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley, has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT3. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat

Nicksmom,

Welcome to the group. My son graduated on 4/10/09 and it was the most amazing thing I have witnessed in my life other than the birth of my children. We are all here to help you and answer any questions that you may have. It will be a long 7-8 weeks for you, but it will be all worth it in the long run. The first time you see your son in that NAVY uniform you will bursting with pride and cry at the same time. Good luck to your Son during boot camp and just remember, we are all here for you. If you have any questions, please ask me and I will answer them the best I can. I will add you to my friends list.
