Oh Nora, I have both sons on carriers and I know diddle about subs. I am starting to learn more about the other ships that comprise a fleet though and find it really interesting. This site is a wealth of info! Thank you for the compliment too. They are good kids and are growing up to be good, honest adults. The military is a step in that direction for sure. You have bicoastal sailors pretty much too. Although the one in Hawaii is really out there, but he must love it there. It is one beautiful place!

Hi Nora, Do you have a sailor aboard the Truman? Have you joined our group The USS Harry S. Truman? There are 2 groups, the one I belong to is the one with the picture of a closeup of a carrier ship (it is actually the Truman).

thanks nora, i am glad that he recognized her, i am sure they are friends. YOur son wouldnt know michael, he graduated in 2000. It sure is a small world and i am glad to know you are in it and dont worry about the spelling, if you knew how many times i went back and corrected my spelling, well its a shame. never could type very good. dont worry about it. I will let leanne know that i found you on the net and you live just down the road, she will flip!!! what a small world, got a page started for the leyte gulf thru Pat and so far we dont have anyone on it except me and pat, so if you find anyone who is stationed on that ship tell them about it, ok?

mine graduated in 2000, 2001, and 2004. Did your boys go thru the rotc program at south houston? My daughter that graduated in 2004 was the commanding officer that year, they nicknamed her "windchimes" and we still keep in touch with Sr. Chief. We help out at the airshow every year for their fundraiser program. We live over by highway 3 and fuqua, in the old genoa subdivision. I think you live on the other side of shaver and highway 3 and that is still really close, way to find neighbors! Way to go South Houston and Navy!!!!!! Your boys look familiar. WHat are their names? I can look them up in Leannes yearbook, her last name was Henry, now she is married. She joined in 2005 and spent two years in Japan, and now is in Norfolk. My other child in the navy is stationed there also and is on the Truman, Michael is his name. Look them up in the year books and give me a chat back. ok?

My son went to the Truman after leave at Christmas, the hardest part was meeting his sponser at the airport, he wasnt waiting inside, but outside instead. so that wasnt good, they need to be inside when they get off the plane. My son tried to call on sunday but the phone lines werent that good, so he had to wait till last night. Right now he is MOA on the galley, got one more month to go there i think, he said that there were two more FC;s coming on board so maybe someone will take his place so he can go and get his qual's done. He has been working on it every chance he can, but it is hard after you get out of the galley. They do their prt's tomarrow, he has been working hard to get that done. The had a contest, the biggest looser in his division, and he won by one pound, beat out the commander or the xo, who ever, and got two extra leave days for it. He has trouble with body weight, he is a mass of muscle and the body fat on top of it doesnt help with the measurments they have to maintain. He is constantly working at it. I am sure he will loose more when they deploy. What does your sone do? Maybe we can get them to meet each other sometime. My son's name is Michael Henry and he is a FC3, and like i said he is doing his part in the galley right now, so maybe he can find him there. thanks for writing, Pam go navy!
