Dear Sherry,
I hated that box, what an empty feeling that left me! UGH!
I got Kim's new bras, and panties. That was on the list on what to bring to Boot Camp.

I'm glad you haven't mailed the letters yet. It's around the third week, you'll recieve the first long letter. The form letter address is not where Marty is living.
His address will look something like what I wrote in my last letter to you.

I had a mom recently yell at me in her letter, about this. She has been writting to the Naval base. I told her about the long letter around the third week, and she got pissed like it was my fault.

The form letter is the Base address, not where Maryt is staying. You need his Div and Ship number, along with the Sailor Drive address, which will be on the return address on his first letter, approx: third week.

I'd feel bad if Marty wrote you back and asked why you're not writing him, if you wrote any other address.

Let me cut this short. It's after 2 AM, and I just got on the computer now! UGH!

Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Sherry,
How are doing today? If I ever cleaned up my kids room, God knows what I would find!! HAHA!!

No, it's only my daughter Kim in the Navy. Though the Navy would be great for my son, but he's not interested. If fact, Kim surprised us today. I didn't know she was driving up. I dread that long 7 hour car ride! UGH!

You said you started writting already. Just curious, have you received that first long letter from Marty? That's around the third week. The return adress on that envelope is the one you write back to.

Marty's address will look something like this:

SR. DOE, John
Div 123 Ship 321
3505 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60085

That form letter is confusing, many moms mistake that for their children address. I wrote to one young girl, thank God she told me this. Her boyfriend is in Boot Camp, and her letters were perfumed!!! I wrote back about that. Her poor boyfriend will get into trouble for that. Boot Camp is strict. I suggested to her, about putting on lipstick and kissing the letter!! HAHA!! SHe wanted to keep it romantic!! HAHA!

Let me get going. My husband is waiting for the computer, her looks like a caged animals, back and fourth!! HAHA!!

You have a blessed tomorrow.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Sherry,
Oh that's great gift, isn't it. Smelly socks and all!! UGH! My son David gave me the same gift the other day. Normally he does his own laundry.
I hate anything on my kitchen table, and that where this laundry bag was sitting on. It was like four loads of wash. But the best part, trying to get out magic marker off of his winter coat and four of his shirts.

Another thing I love about my son, I wash his sheets, does he put them back on the bed, of course not. He'll sleep on the mattress, no problem!
He's 18 years old!

I know, the worrying when our babies are in Boot Camp. I had horribel visions! UGH! Then that first letter from Kim, broke my heart. That's why I warn moms about that posibilty.
About 3-4 letters later, your son will be writting to you in Navy lingo. That's fun trying to understand that! HAHA! As long as he knows what he's writting about, that's all that matters!! HAha!

I have seen some parts of the test Battlestation, that's the final test. I still can't beleive my tiny 5 foot 1, timid little girl did all that. Especialy wearing the fireproof gear, putting out the fire. Go check that out, it'll amaze you. The videos should still be on the "video" section, on this website.

Let me get going. You have a blessed tomorrow.
Take care and God bless.

Dear Peace 2u,
How are you holding up? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
We have been all through this, after awhile, you'll be an expert with he Navy!! HAHA!
I'll let you know what to expect the next few weeks. It's all good stuff.

You'll recieve the famous box, next week, with Marty's civilain clothes. You'll be surprised what was sent back. There's no letter in it, we all looked for ours already! HAHA!

The second week, you'll recieve a form letter, on the back it'll have about two sentences from Marty. You'll have a little relief seeing his handwritting.

Around the third week, is your first actual long letter. On this envelope, the return address is the address you write back to Marty.

Usualy, the next weekend, he may even call you.
I do warn moms, about the first letter. Sometimes it is sad. If it is, don't panic.
The letters will get more uplifting.

Once Marty gets into the rountine of Boot Camp and over being homesick, he'll like Boot Camp. They all do , beleive it or not.

Now the best thing for you to do is to stay in touch with other Navy moms.
I'm always around as well. Together, we'll help you through Boot Camp.....we haven't lost a mom yet! HAHA!

Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
