Diana,
E-mail me with Adam's last name and I'll see if my son Peter knows him. They are in brother divisions and share the same compartment.

Diana, read what you wrote on Molly's group and thought I'd come console you. My sons both went in 2003. One had a pretty good division that didn't screw up too much and he got several phone calls. The other had one guy that screwed up so much that they didn't get quite as many calls however he did get to call on Thanksgiving and was adopted out on Christmas. They have to earn those calls and it's the whole division or no one. Every RDC is different too. There was no N4Ms when my kids went but the recruiters were great, kept in contact with them until they had all moved on. My sons were very good about writing every Sunday but I know that my oldest son cried at night quite often and reread the letters as often as he could. They miss us as much as we miss them. Write, write and write some more and be patient, keep busy, if you have other kids pour yourself into them or your husband. Always try to be positive in your letters so they don't think they need to worry about you. Continue to tell him how proud you are of their choice and how confident you are that he'll do fantastic. And on the subject of husbands, no matter how many times they say they miss them just as much or that they understand, it's different for a Mom. Hang in there, stay strong, you'll make it!! We're all here for you, feel free to lean on us!

Hi Diana...I'm a PIR 8/14 mom too. And yes, you can send the calling card, stamps and cash. I know they give them a few stamps to get them started and they also provide stationary and envelopes so don't worry about sending that stuff.
