Hi Prayerful4Artie

It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.

Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.

Hope to see lots of your smiling faces 

Dear prayerful,
I know that's a miserable feeling to miss that call. At least you did hear his voice on the phone. You'll hear from Artie periodically in the coming weeks.
If I remember right, he should call, at least 3 more times, before he graduates.

Good chance, the next call will be in three weeks, after you recieve his long letter. He may even surprise you with one earlier then that. I did receive several calls when my daughter was in Boot Camp. After the first call, the rest are earned.

Boot Camp is frustrating on us moms. Once Artie graduates, he can call you anytime, try to think positive! HAHAH!

I'll let you go. Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Prayerful,
How are you holding up? Everyday does get easier.
I'm always here. All the moms here are more than happy to help you through Boot Camp.

I'll let you know what to expect. You wrote Artie left today. Tomorrow he should call you , so you know he arrived safely.

Next week you'll receive the box with his civilin clothes. There won't be a letter in it, we all looked for ours!! HAHA!

Week two, the form letter. On the back will have about two sentences from Artie. You'll have some relief seeing his handwritting.

Around the third week, your first long letter. The return address is the one you write to him.

I do warn moms, sometimes that first letter is sad. Artie won't be in the rountine of Boot Camp yet and he's still homesick. Once he gets into the rountine, he will like Boot Camp. They all do believe it or not.

His letters will be more uplifting each week.

The fourth week, you're half way mark, the graduation (PIR) package.

I'll let you get going. Please don't hestitate to write, I'm always around.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear prayerful,
How are you you today? This Navy for moms iss such a blessing.

When does Artie leave for Boot Camp?

He'll be fine. Once he gets into the rountine of Boot Camp and over being homesick, he'll like Boot Camp. They all do believe it or not.

It's the moms having the nervous breakdowns! HAHA!!
Boot Camp isn't as horrible as us mom picture it.

Best thing for you to do is to stay in contact with other Navy moms. I'm always around. Together, we'll help you through Boot Camp....we haven't lost a mom yet! HAAH!

Please let me know when Artie leaves, I'll tell you what to expect to first few weeks. It's all good stuff.

Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
