When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Be very Patient. Time makes all things come through one way or another.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi! I haven't talked to you before, but I noticed on a mutual friend's comment wall that you were staying at the Red Carpet Inn for PIR and using shuttles to get around....and I wanted to let you know that a friend of mine stayed there for PIR, also (our husbands' PIR was July 2nd of this year), and I don't know if they changed it or told you anything about the shuttles, but she got the impression before we got there that they had a shuttle service going from the base to the hotel all the time, and they do NOT (or at least didn't when we were there, it might have changed). They will take you to PIR in the morning and bring you back, but they WON'T take your sailor back to the base and they won't pick him up in the morning or take you to the base any other day, etc. It's ONLY for graduation. It seemed like from your comment that you were planning on relying on the shuttle service for transportation over the weekend, I wanted to tell you from (indirect) experience that it could very possibly end up in lots of frustration, taxi fares, and a lot of sitting around.

Like I said, it could be different now, but a few months ago, that's the way it was - they make it sound like a sweet deal, but my friend ended up paying a lot for taxis just to be able to see her hubby over the weekend. However, if you are lucky enough to make a friend there who drove, they might help you get around a bit! Lol. I say that because...I was that friend for her, lol.

Take care, and best of luck and lots of happiness for this weekend! Hope this didn't sound too creepy coming out of the blue, I just like to help if I can, and being prepared instead of surprised I think is always better.

I just want you to know because I was told that it was going to be blazing hot and it VERY much wasn't! So, I encourage you to take a sweater! It was an awesome experience! You're goning to LOVE it!
