About me:
My son of almost 21 is in the mechanics catagory for the navy and is stationed in Mississippi right now. I think for 4 years, maybe more!!!!!!!
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
In the NROTC program
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I never was, but his grandpa raised him and his grandpa was in the Korean War and it was wartime and I believe his grandparents are taking it hard that he left but as far as that goes I most definitely am too. I think about him daily but i talk to him on the pc and he loves it, He said he loves Mississippi and his navy seabee friends.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

bootcamp in great lakes, illinois

It's too bad the naval base don't allow more than 4 family members for the bootcamp graduation ceremony, it's a beautiful thing to see, i will tell you that, but there were plenty of seats and it's to bad when so many of the recruits have broken homes and two moms and two dads or they have to pick which set of grandparents they are gonna invite, i don't think theres o be a certain # of people for inviteing ! W

Paula, Yes I am proud of him always have been. He has been my best friend. We do alot together. We just got finished with a week of working bible school together. I cry everytime I think about him leaving.Hope I can handle it.

Hi Paula, My husband;s name is jerry Varney. They came from eastern ky. Hos grandparents were Leanord and Maggie Varney. Don't know too much about them. My son is in the delayed entry program now.Not sure when he will leave. he will be in aviation ordenanceman. Diane

Hi Paula, Thanks for adding me as a friend. I think my husband might still have a cousin there but not sure.If I find out I'll let you know. My son Kyle is in the DEP. Not sure when he will leave. Not really looking forward to it either.I'm not to good on this site, still learning how to work my way around it. Will keep in touch.
