Hi Renee,

It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.

Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.

Hope to see lots of your smiling faces 

Hi, Renee,
Rose contacted me and said that your son is facing discharge because of a medical diagnosis of ADHD. My son had a similar experience so I'm happy to answer questions for you and offer moral support. Let me know if I can help -- Ellen

Renee he can fight it. Talk to Ellen whose son successfully fought a discharge for ADHD. Read her entries about it first, and then talk to her. She has been thru it with her son, and he got thru it and graduated.

Hi Renee. welcome to Ship 17 moms. Read through the info there, but bear in mind that Ship 17 conditions have improved since the summer . The complaints are mostly boredom, but there are classes they can go to to keep busy, if they choose. Encourage your son, you can write and send books and magazines that are not anti govt, military or porno(like a mom would send that stuff)
I am sending you a friend invitation so if you have questions you need answered privately you can thru the private message system.

I would love to read it. Can you send it to my personal email at bcnielson@comcast.net, also if you need my address for January send me an email from your personal email and I will give you all of the information. I really don't like to put that info out here.

Keep me up to date on what is happening with your son.

Renee - Keep the faith, it really will work out for him and for you. What an adjustment for all of us. Keep asking questions, someone will have the answers. Where did you find the letter, I got distracted with the Adopt-A-Sailor stuff and dropped the ball...sorry.

Renee,
I am so glad you called tonight. I still haven't found that letter and if I don't find it sometime tomorrow I am going to ask out on the forum....someone will remember it and tell us how to find it. I just really wanted to encourage you to write your son and let him know how proud you are of him and that you know he will make it through Boot Camp. I will lift him and you up in prayer, strength for him and wisdom for you. Please let me know if I can help in any other way. Take care.
