I also had a son and daughter in law that were in Iraq last year. They had a baby this year, but they have to return to Iraq next year, at different times. We were able to communicate by using Myspace Instant messenger when they were in Iraq every week. They have to check into Kaquit first to process, and that was a safe place, but they couldn't talk for about 3 weeks.

I have a son that graduates from bootcamp in Fort Knox in November also.

Glad you joined us.

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Military is like a family. They have been very good to my son and his family. My son loves what he does and the Navy has made my son one of the finest people I know.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
