I GOT A CALL......he passed the test!!!! he said "I hope you didn't cancel those plane tickets."" I said no way son, I'll see you on Friday! That's it girls,,we are set. He said there was no way he wasn't passing battlestations.

You should try to meet up with him at the airport when he flies out. Sometimes they have hours before their flight and you could have even more time with him then. They can have their electronics (cell phone, laptops, etc.) after they leave GL, so you can bring them to the airport. My ex was able to stay with my son at the airport and gave him his cell phone and computer. Oh boy, was it nice to get those text messages from him on his way to A school! That's wonderful that he'll be so close during A school. My son was in Goose Creek, then Groton, CT, for A school. Now he's on a sub based in Bangor, WA. Oh so far away from home!

Hello, at least you will have the day with him at graduation. And I heard a rumor, that some schools are closed on Thanksgiving and some sailors get to fly home. Although, I have no back up or confirmation on that, but you might want to chedk with the recruiter. I haven't had a chance to yet. Funny, because my other son who graduates from High School this next spring is speaking with my boot camp son's recruiter about going into the Navy Seals. But I didn't think to confirm the Thanksgiving rumor with the recruiter. I was so wrapped up in finding out about my youngest and the opportunities etc. LOL. Just a thought though. It might be worth checking into.
