About me:
We moved to Rotonda West Fla in 2003 it was a big move for me .We lived in Michigan all my life it was tough @ 1st. here but we love it I have 3 children 1 son who still lives up north, a daughter & my youngest son who lives here in fla. im happly married have been with my husband since I was 18 he is my best friend. we have 2 lovely grandbabys. we miss them alot & now my baby boy left on jan 27th. Im having a hard time with this he is my baby boy but he isnt by no means a baby he is a good kid dont do drugs & really surprized me when he did this I am very proud but Im worried alsoI know he'll give the navy every thing he has & we are very proud of him I feel he has made a great choise on making a life for his self.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
my son has his life planed out & will stick to everything he does because I know in my heart my son is not a quiter! I miss him so much & have wrote to him 5 times & have only got 1 note when he got there to give me the address then the navy sent me a diffrent 1 so im not sure if he is getting the mail & I dont want him to think we dont care.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

boot camp is tough!

my son joined the navy on january 27th. I thought when we went to his graduation he would have regrets but he didnt. he is my youngest so it was real hard for me to let my little bird leave the nest but he did & has grown into a man it made him realize how much we did as parents for him. I was only able to talk to him 2x's & it was hard! so just keep writing even though you might only recive a couple of letters they keep them real busy. just let them know you are caring & thinking ab… Continue

Thanks for your response about graduation- that helps to know! And congratulations to your graduate!!! You're right about writing even though we only receive an occasional letter. I know it's everything to these guys. Where does your son go now?

Thanks for being my friend. Love those pics and you are right those grandbabies are the CUTEST!!!! Glad that you might be attending our event on the 19th. Where is Rotonda West? I've never heard of it and I've lived here since 1971!!! Do I live in a bubble? I grew up in Pasco County(NPR) and now live in Pinellas (Palm Harbor).
So your son just graduated from Boot Camp! Wow are you bursting your buttons!??!!! Isn't it wonderful to have such pride and love in our hearts!
What field did Robert go into? My son, Shane is a Nuke. He just graduated from Power School in Charleston in Feb and is now getting ready to complete his training in NY. But he will be home this Friday for 5 days before he heads to NY. So needless to say I am one happy Navy MOM!!!!
Well let me know how many plan on attending the 19th event as soon as you can. All is welcome. We have Dads coming, siblings coming!!! It's at my brother's(ex Navy ~ 10 yrs) restaurant and he has a nice room upstairs overlooking the River in Port Richey so we'll have plenty of room. It will be a relaxed atmosphere and you can order whatever, whenever you want.
Can't wait to meet you.

We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
