Promotion and loving it!!

Got 3 letters from my daughter Danielle (ship 12, div 081) yesterday and she has been promoted to RPOC and loves it! She said she's been training for it most her life by being a big sister. LOL She misses sleeping in and seeing her family. I got to talk to her a little over a week ago and it was great just hearing her voice. She told me that when she really starts missing me and wants to talk to me she thinks about the song by Lonestar "I'm already there". What a great kid. Miss her alot. Can't… Continue

Mellow Mood

Hello little darlin',

aint no need to worry.

Feels right in my arms now,

why go home and be all alone?

But if the sun shines, know it's because of you.

Just know that's true.

When all your money's gone,

where will you be?

If your love is strong,

that's all you need.

Our love runs deep like the love in my veins.

I love you always and always the same.

Love remains

Love your every change,

Love your every… Continue

United States Navy headed out to Haiti to assist in recovery efforts

We learned first thing this morning that my daughter and her shipmates will be headed to Haiti to help residents of Haiti recover. I'm both grateful and proud that the United States Navy has been selected to assist in recovery after the horrific earthquake disaster that hit the island yesterday. Please keep these men and women in your thoughts and prayers for their safety, protection and encouragement. Another good thing, I'm sure these… Continue

New to bootcamp

My daughter just left yesterday for bootcamp. I feel as if a little part of me has died inside. I know that her joining is a good thing, especially with the economy the way it is and there are no good jobs in Michigan right now, but it is truly bittersweet. I've been reading a few of the letters that folks have sent and it scares me a little. How does someone get discharged after only a few days? what happened? How do you fail out of A school? Is it so difficult that if your not a genius, that… Continue

8 month anniversary, alone.

Drew, baby, I love you so much! I can't believe 8 months from today is the first day I met you. 8 months ago, my life changed and it will never go back to the way it was before. Life is hard, but you make everything worth it. Today is a day to think about everyone in the Military and about their loved ones back home crying because they miss them so much. Drew, my life will never be as bright as it was, until I have you back with me. I will tell everyone I know because I am, nor will I ever be,… Continue

Dear Nick, November 14th, 2009

I’m writing you this letter and I’m starting now, and I’ll finish when I’ve finished. First off, I truly, madly, deeply, am crazy in love with you. I love you with every cell in my entire body. My love for you will always be here as long as you let me love you, Nick. Please, let me love you, because I know I will love you forever. I know I will. Box

Well, I am at work but I hear that a box came from my baby. It must be his clothes and phone with no letter everyone has warned me about... I wish I could talk to him for at least 1 minute just to see how he is...

looking for moms with sailors at Sheppard AFB as of 01/02/2010

My son just got to Sheppard's last week. He graduated from Great Lakes 12/29. I just got his address yesterday and am looking forward to sending him what he conciders essentials-- cell phone, ipod, and banana nut bread.

I managed to survive his time in boot camp because it is the busiest time of year for my company and I worked 60+ hrs/wk. Now - since we returned from his graduation- things have slowed tremedously and I have time to think a whole lot more. I understand that they have… Continue

Too much information

Maybe the OPSEC lessons should include "Things you really shouldn't put on Facebook."

... Particularly if your Mom is a Friend.

Obviously my son missed that lesson in BC, or do they not teach that?
