Sarge's Meet and Greet

For those of you considering whether you should go to a Meet & Greet event I would highly recommend Sarge's Meet & Greet located at the Sundance Saloon. My older son and husband thought I was crazy to sign us up a Meet & Greet and I could tell when we first arrived they still felt that way. But once Sarge started his slideshow and giving such great information and advice regarding PIR they couldn't say enough. The food was okay. But information was absolutely priceless and such a…

Base Hotels, Can parents stay?

Does anyone know if I, her mother, can stay at the hotels on base? If so, would it be a problem if my partner stayed with me? Him and I are not married.

My daughter is based in Everett right now, but we are going to meet in San Diego in Feb., where her friend is stationed. When she was in A school at Fort Lee, the base hotel told me that I had to have a military ID to stay at the hotel on base. Is that the case with all of the base hotels or does it depend on the base. Then, if that…

K-ace is leaving for boot camp...

"K-ace" is leaving for boot camp on Jan 14th 2013.  He is my first born.  I am so completely proud of him.  I am so grateful to N4M's in that I can now lose it and cry my eyes out in anticipation of him leaving without feeling like I'm going insane.  I have held it together pretty well but these last couple of weeks have been pretty hard.  I have read don't miss em til they are gone about a hundred times, but that is so much easier said than done.  I think about him and my heart hurts, that,…

How I feel about boot camp

My son has not left yet. He leaves on April 1 and as the day gets closer I am getting more and more scared and nervous for him. I keep having dreams of him getting yelled at a lot and he is not liking it. I wake up sweating and crying. I cannot wait for boot camp to be over.

The New Year...it's going to be a big one.

My will graduate high school in June and leave a month later. I busy my mind with planning....our vacation to Arizona... graduation.... New Hampshire/camping...and then his going away picnic. Like all of you, I could not be more proud. I just wish time (for me) would start to crawl.

CA son ships out in July...

My oldest son will be shipping out in July. At first I was extremely happy now I have mixed emotions. I feel I'm being selfish about him just leaving home. We talk about him leaving often and he seems to comfort me saying he's going to be fine. I don't know is it normal for me feeling this way?
