got the box

we got the "box"...just as expected. The only surprise was the airline ticket stub..I guess that is his way of letting me know what airline he went on and the time.  We finally got a temporary address, and I posted it on his Facebook Page (he had given me the password for just that reason) I sent some letters and silly postcards.  Also included some comics from the funny pages. He will get his first mail tomorrow.

I have been keeping to my weight loss plan and have gotten rid of…

Congratulations To My Stepson

Not only will he be graduating on the 4th of March, but he has been selected to the Navy Honor Guard. He will be serving a two year tour in Washington DC. We are so very proud of him. Now we just have to wait 13 days, and leave 70 degree weather for the beautilful windy city of Chicago. Can't wait it is going to be a big family reunion.

corpsman questions

My boyfriend's dad got a letter today that he shared with me. It was written last Thursday. He is a grad and go to the Great Lakes. In the letter he wrote that he isnt even positive if he'll have liberty after PIR, he said it is up to the a-school. Does anyone know what the chances are of the a-school not letting them have liberty during the weeknd? Also does anyone know what happens after a-school usually? Where he could possibly get stationed? For how long? And what it's like in general

MEPS Questions

Will MEPS disqualify anyone from joining the Navy for Asthma before age 13?  Lots of kids have that at some point when they are young.

My child and friend are not certain.

Thanks

Today my son left his childhood to become his own man.

Today is the beginning of a new chapter for me. My youngest son left today for Navy Boot Camp. He was so excited and I so tried to keep that stiff upper lip for him. But like most  moms, I cried and its only been 3 hours since he left and I am so missing him.

My son called me today (he's stationed in Jacksonville Fl) to tell me that when he was on lunch break at a local fast food place he was about to pay for his order when an elderly man standing next to him told him to save his money, "this one's on me - you do enough already".  My son was stunned for a second but then thanked the man for his kindness.  Wow!  Little acts of kindness like this really makes a sailor's day! Navygal88 is Ship 11 Div 121

Hi Girls, including NH moms.  Lilly is Ship 11 Div 121,  Received my "Lilly in a box" today.  Whoa, what a way to make a mom cry huh!  Took me couple of hours to finally open it. Don't know why, I knew exactly what was in it.  Only the clothes on her back she left with.  Hoping it had her address, but NO, so I finally called her recruiter and got it for me. Ran down to the post office and finally got those cards and letter off my counter.  Now I think I will be much better.  Phew, what a…
