OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Got a call from my SR about an hour ago. He sounded so good, so strong! I was beginning to think he wasn't going to get to call this weekend. I was so glad to hear his voice. I sure hope all of you got calls this weekend.

Last Week of Bootcamp

Well this is the last week of bootcamp for my recruit, I must say, I am one proud mom.  He has grown so much, and has flourished into a more brilliant and intelligent young man. He's liking it so far, and looking forward to what the USN has to offer him and ready to embrace it. I'm thankful for where God has brought him and where he is taking him. I can't wait to see him! I am so over joyed at this moment.  It wasn't easy, but so worth it. Like I tell him in the letters I've written,…

Hotel recommendations for early to mid September time frame

Hi Everyone,  I am planning on being at  PIR in September, God Willing,  I am starting to research hotels, because I want this to also be a mini vacation.  What are your recommendations.  I have seen two that are right on the lake, however, worried about distance to PIR.  Also what is the weather like in September?

Thank you in advance!!!
