Wish I would get another phone call or letter

I know when Zach called he said it would be another three weeks before we heard from him again but it seems like forever.  I told him he didn't have to write if he didn't have time to write everyone.  To write to some of the other people writing him and I would hear through them and now I am thinking that was a mistake because I so desperately want to hear something.....can't wait till we get to go and see him....I miss my boy more then I ever thought possible.....

Information on PQS

My sailor completed the Dep guide PQS, passed the written test while @ recruit training command and passed the PT-Baseline with a SAT-MED as stated by the advanced paygrade requirements. She was told by her ICC that she passed the test and had been promoted to E-2. She was not given any paperwork but was allowed to have the rank put on her dress uniform for graduation. She was sent to A-school where noone could give her any information. When she arrived at her permanent duty station, no…

My boyfriend leaves April 4th for BC

I'm new to this so I'm not sure what all I am supposed to write but my boyfriend leaves for BC on April 4th.  We have known now for about six months so I have had time to let it settle in.  I have read a lot of the different post and it worries me because so many don't receive a letter for almost a month.  My boyfriend is 29 and he is older compared to a lot of the diff ones I have read about.  I really feel like I am going to be okay while he is gone.  I know it will be hard but I want him…

Anyone with loved ones on Ship 03? Encouraging message, esp. for those (like me) whom haven't rec'd Letters or calls...

Just got an encouraging message from a recent grad on the RDC site:

Adam: Ship 03 is the best! I didn't get to get my first letters out until 2+ weeks after I started. Ship 03 has the best RDC's though. They're strict, but when it came to graduation, all of the divisions from Ship 03 did miles better than the other divisions in our graduating push. Good luck to your…

Day 10 - form letter day!

YAY!!! got my form letter today with all the official info & PIR date...super excited & great to here from my son, even though it was only a few lines.  Best line "Love you all!"  yes with an explanation point too!  He had a few instructions for us to handle for him, makes me wonder how he's handling instructions?  He's pretty independent & in my opinion would make a great instructor for future new SR...LOL. Already made our reservations & cannot wait to head up to GL for… Continue

Update

My son got a call and is now leaving this tuesday instead of on the 29th!  wow, we thought it would never come and now it has come a week early!  What is funny is that we did a ton of family activities last week-end including a long over due family photo. This week end he went to Vegas with his Uncle and cousin to hang out, so now my hubby and teen daughter are going to pick him up tomorrow so he can do some last minute stuff and say some good byes before his last day here.  Wish us luck!

Flight Arrangement for Graduation

My son graduates on April 22, 2011 from Great Lakes, IL.  I need to make my flight arrangements and I'm not sure what airport I should fly into.  Would O'Hare be my best bet?  Any help would be appreciated.

son leaves in 9 weeks for boot camp

My son reports to Great Lakes in 9 weeks for boot camp then Pensacola, then stationed in San Diego (if all goes as planned)  he will be an Airman (AN)   because no jobs were available at the time, so he was advised this would be best unless he wanted to wait for who knows how long.  Can anyone tell me anything about this job other than what I've read? Thanks

THINGS CHANGE

Last night I posted that I had a call from my son and was told the the Denver was deploying as soon as they could prepare and all leaves were cancelled.  They were supposed to be on stand-by to evacuate over 1000 military dependants.  Approximately 4 hours later he called back to say don't cancel your flight just yet.  The Admiral said it would take too long to get the Denver ready so they are staying put and leaves are back on.  Yippee!!  Now if the airlines and government will allow me to…

Son is Deploying

Just had a call from my son.  He said the Denver is deploying to rescue the US citizens in the hot zone.  All leave has been cancelled and they were told to expect to be there for some time.  I could tell he was close to tears as I was crying too.  Now I know I won't be going to see him no matter what happens.  I was supposed to leave 30 days from today.

Deployment Doom

My husband is safe at home with another underway scheduled for at some point within the next month or so, and I'm hearing of other women around me whose husbands will be deployed. Two of their husbands are on the same boat. They will be gone from May til November, according to one husband of  friend of mine's the boat that is being deployed is a "good boat." My husband was stationed on a boat that was out of commission for quite a while and is constantly being worked on. All I have to say…
