Just finished a great evening eating pizza and playing Phase 10 with Brandon and Savannah (NAS Oceana), Trever (USS Gunston Hall), David (USS Harry S. Truman), Brad (USS George Bush). By the end of the Phase 10 game I think we were all a little flaky! It was fun! We laughed a lot!!

My daughter, Chrissy left for Boot Camp today. I hope and pray that she does ok. She is a single Mom, and it was very hard for her to leave her 2 year old son with his father. She is 24 years old, and has an Associate's degree so was able to go in as an E-3. She was happy about that. She is also signed up for Techincal school after Basic Training. She got one of 30 slots just for woman. So that is nice that she will be with other woman. She said before she left that she hope to find another…

Below are some of my favorite moments but if I listed all of my favorite moments, it would be pages and pages. If you attended, please feel free to add your own Top Ten.
1. All the Moms, Dads, family and friends who helped get this event together.

It's Fleet Week in NYC. There's no better place to go if you want to see lots of sailors and ships. Some Moms from NY and surrounding states are getting together this Memorial Day and hosting a BBQ for 75 sailors and 25 Marines at Midland Beach on Staten Island. Some of us are meeting up tomorrow and others will be arriving on Monday.
I can't wait to meet some of my new friends and of course, there will be some GOOD friends too. Yes, Miss Brenda Sue, herself is flying in from the big…

Hello N4M Members!
When I first joined you as admin of this community, it took me awhile to figure out some of the Navy lingo that I saw all over the site. DEP? PIR? What are these ladies talking about? :)
I know that many of you have had the same questions, so to help you out we’ve developed a new tool just for you – NAVY Speak, a NAVYForMoms.com acronym widget! It’s located at the column on the right where you can access it whenever you come across a Navy term (or…

Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day, hope you can attend a parade, have a bbq with family and friends, hug a sailor or get a phone call and most importantly think of those that served so our lives can be safe in the USA.
We are very fortunate that our Sailor will be with us for the holiday weekend, can't get much better than that!

Thats how long its been since we've
seen James in the flesh, put our arms around him. I have already let him know that when I see him (hoping for this summer) I'm going to squeeze him to death. his response to that was " I'll run I'd like my insides to stay on the inside lol "
But other than that all is well for James overseas. He looks good, tired sometimes but thats to be expected. Modern tech rocks!!!! Vonage, skype, computers, cell phones, emails, web cams just think how the families…

I knew my son did the best thing by joining the Navy, and this weekend is proof of just how much he's matured. He came home to surprise a former teacher who was awarded "Master Teacher" at a banquet last night. This banquet tends to be long with 12 teachers profiled with the reasons of why they were chosen. Not once during the program did my son say to me, "How much longer?" So many of his teachers happened to be there from elementary and junior high school and were thrilled to see him in his…
