Saturday May 1, 2010

Yvonne and John and Cody ate hamburgers and fries at the house and were starting a game of dominoes, then decided to go to the Virginia International Tattoo at the Scope in Norfolk instead. The beautiful colors, pagentry, and music from international military bands were awesome! I am soooo glad we went! I think this is going to be an annual event for us.

Sunday April 25, 2010

Had a housefull this afternoon! Savannah, Brandon, and Malachai (NAS Oceana), Cody (USS Fort McHenry), Kim, Aiden, and Barbara (NAVSTA Norfolk), and Sarah and Jacob! We ate Italian Crepes and a spinach and artichoke vegetable, and then vanilla biscotti and coffee for dessert. Yum! Then we watched the first eight chapters in the Matthew video and prayed together. What a great day! Check out the pictures I added.

Well I got my first phone call from my son this afternoon, it was so good to hear his voice , at least I know that he is well and doing okay. Now I wait to see when I get my first letter, I hope it is soon. He told me that the first week was really rough but he got thru it and now things seem a little better. He really likes the guys that are in his division he told me that everyone gets along really well and that was good to hear. Now I think the rest of the time is really going to fly by.

Possible problems with graduation?

Hi again N4M, Again, I am needing advice from all of you. My stepson, who is scheduled for graduation on May 7, 2010, supposedly called his grandmother in Louisiana yesterday to tell her he may not graduate. I think the boy may have been embarrassed to call us (me and his father). Due to some strange family dynamics, including some trust issues regarding my husband's ex wife and inlaws, we are at a loss of what to do. Who do we contact to see if he is still graduating? PAO? As far as I can see… Continue

CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED!!!-Need help with site!

I'm starting to feel like a complete IDIOT because I just can't seem to figure out how to do things on this site. Although I dont't really do any social networking (i.e. facebook, mayspace, twitter...) I like to think that I'm somewhat computer literate and not a stupid person! When I click to add someone as a friend, it doesn't do anything. Does the person I tried to add as a friend get an invite from me that I don't see? Am I supposed to get a message of pending friends? When I tried to send a… Continue

No question is too stupid and no feeling you have is too silly. I get to see my Sailor in 26 days! For teh very first time in over 6…

US Veterans, detained and deported after service.

http://www.vvaw.org/veteran/article/?id=1248

This is just wrong on so many levels. In the words of one of my favorite vets..."those guys lay their lives on the line just like the rest of us, and they earn and deserve citizenship and the same respect, and benefits, that the rest of us get."

This is a write your congressman situation. This has to change.

It doesn't matter your political…
