LCAC

A funky name for our new adventure.  We've left SO and now are learning what GSM is and what they can do in this rate.  Now we know that he'll be working with LCAC.  I've scoured N4M for people or information regarding his new rate and the possibilities and for friends to share with...to no avail.  If anyone can help me or joing me... please feel free to do so ;).

Grandparent's Scam

I just wanted to warn everyone to have an ear open.  My son graduated from Navy Boot Camp on May 10th, 2013.  He is currently at Great Lakes for A School (DC) and my parents his Grandparents were called last Thursday May, 23rd by someone stating that it was him (sounded congested) stating that he had 3 day's of liberty and he went with a fellow sailor to Canada to a friends wedding where they rented a car.  Since he had a cold he took some Nyquil and subsquently got into a car accident.  He…

How can I find out?

My daughter has been transferred to Ship 4, Div 2341 due to some injuries that occurred during her second PFA and now she has to wait thru 6-8 weeks of Physical therapy before she can try to qualify for graduation.  The only problem is that we have not heard from her in almost 2 weeks...no phone calls, no letters.  Is there any other way to contact her that keep on shooting her letters from home?  We are not receiving any responses and are getting worried.

Graduation

My family and I went to Great Lakes last week for my daughters graduation. It was amazing. The Navy does a magnificent job presenting their sailors at graduation. Everyone should experience this. I can guarantee that everyone there was completely impressed and inspired. I am so proud to call myself a "Navy Mom". Please look at my pictures and share the proud moment. :)  Thank you  to everyone's comments.

Update since my son joined the Navy May 30th 2012

Good news!! My son graduated from boot camp October 2012. Since then he has graduated from A school for Navy Corpsman / Medic training and C school for combat training. Monday he reported in at the Greater Lakes Navy base to begin working in the RCU where he was treated for stress fractures while in boot camp. He is loving being one of the staff members now, and already saw one of the doctors who treated him last year. Just know if you have a recruit in RCU, my…

I've been patiently waiting....

My son left for BC on May 8th...as of today, no form letter.  I see other families posting that they've received their letters and I am sure plans are underway for their PIR.  Why is my letter taking longer than others who left on the same day?  I'm upset and concerned.

Arrived at RTC

I received my 10 second phone call! So happy... But having a really hard time with my first born leaving and not being able to communicate with him by phone. I am extremely proud and know this is a great opportunity for him and his future. They all grow up and eventually leave the house.

34 days..

It's so hard to believe there are just 34 more days left with Josh until he leaves to start his new life!  The time has flown by; so fast in fact, that I find myself in this surreal situation watching my middle son become a man before my very eyes.  Words will never adequately express how proud I am of him, how much I will miss seeing his face each day, his wit and sarcasm, and all the joy he brings to the house.  It's so amazing how quickly this has come about, even though it's been 6…

doctors??

Hey everybody I have a question about seeing a doctor. My husband is stationed over seas and is in the process of getting me down there with him. We almost have it all done except for getting my medical clearence. His chief is going to be sending me the correct papers to get filled out and then send back to them for processing. Sounds easy enough but my only problem is I dont know where to go to find the right doctor. Can I just go to my regular doctor or does it have to be a military…
