Dalton's Mom

My son in in Division 263, Ship 12 and I am sorry to say we have mislpaced hthe form letters we received regarding the graduation (Aug 6th). Is there a web site with the info or could someone scan and email it to me? I'm new to this site (1st time) trying to figure it out, really not sure where to type comments and questions. I find myself always going up to his room even sleeping in it. I'm having a hard time letting him go he is my only child. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Another Son Is Leaving

Well, my son is in A-school in Pensacola and finally graduating Aug 24th after waiting 3 1/2 months for his class to start. The recruiter showed up on my doorstep the other day, my youngest son, a senior in HS this year, will be taking the ASVAB next week and is hoping to leave as soon as he graduates next May or soon after. I hope I'll be prepared when he leaves (but I know I won't be). It's been 6 months and still having a hard time with the 1st son being gone. At least I know what to expect.… Continue

THE box

I got Brooklyn's box containing all over her belongs today. It wasn't as hard as I thought because I knew it would be coming and I have had time to prepare myself - I also have been extremely busy so I haven't had time to think about it too much! I even laughed a little because she just stuffed everything in not bothering to fold her clothes!! (Very typical:) Then I was a little sad because I wanted to call her and give her a hard time for just stuffing everything in and realized that I… Continue

hasn't passed her IFA (Initial Fitness Assessment) yet, deploys in 15 days

My daugter leaves in 15 days for BC, but she hasn't passed her IFA (Initial Fitness Assessment) yet, so things are a little tense at our house. I was told that there might be a waiver she can sign that says she understands that she hasn't passed it yet, but feel she can pass it at BC. Has anyone ever heard of this?

The room is cleaned out.

Brooklyn had a whopping 5 days to get ready to head out to boot camp. Because of this she didn't have time to pack up her room before she left - she even left all her dirty clothes all over (I think she was playing on my upset side!). She has been gone for less than a week and between her dad and I we have cleaned out her room. She wanted it done quickly so her brothers didn't get into her stuff!

I looked in the room last night because my nieces were sleeping in there and it was so… Continue
