P-Days "Moment of Truth" Questions

I read from one recruit's experience that while in P-Days, there's a phrase called "moment of truth". The Cheifs or POs begin asking questions again-see if you've lied on any questions you were asked. Recruit said he was told to stand to answer his questions (by the interviewer).

But recruit said DO NOT STAND UP when answering any question because you're admitting to have been/are lying to their questions and BE SENT HOME ON THE SPOT. Then, he was asked if he's homesick. He answered… Continue

I'm still learning how to navigate through this site

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the words of encouragement. I haven't heard from my son since his last call. I had some friends come by and pray with me and my family for his strength and guidance.

Blue Candles

I have been reading a lot of post regarding our Sailors being sent over seas.  My sailor is in A school but in support of all the Sailors and their families I am suggesting that we put blue candles up every where.  FB, Twitter, email.  Some of us are unable to have candles at work.  Let's plaster social media with Blue Candles.…

mailing address concern

Hello ladies,

My son is stationed on USS Somerset in San Diego CA. hes having mail issues. When a physical address is requested is it a good idea to use the Ships address or do you think a PO box will work better. He applied for a CA drivers license and use the ships address. hes been waiting for it for a while now. How dependable is a ships mailing system. any info would be greatly appreciated. Anabela

The clock is ticking

Soooo July 15 is approaching and picking up speed. I will be having a going away party for him on the 13th. So does anyone care to share how the night before their departure date went for the family? I know that he will swear in on the 15th and head to a hotel. I am curious to see how others played out that day.

Question: Does anyone have any stories about the physical attribute of boot camp from their sons??? I worry more than my son does so I don't know why if he's not concerned I… Continue

Cortramid East 2014

Dear Navy Moms,

I just joined this site and before I joined, I saw some sample conversation about lists of what midshipmen had to take to Cortramid a few years ago (2010/2011).  We have a tricky situation since our family will be returning from a distant vacation the same morning that our son needs to report to Norfolk (the Navy moved the start date up by one day since we booked our flights).  Therefore, I'd like to help my son get everything completely packed for cortramid before we…

The beginning is always hard

Dear Navy Moms:

I want you all to know that I remember what it was like for me (so long ago). I had to remind myself on a daily basis that "my little boy" was becoming a young man and he was growing up (without me). That was hard to swallow, but I managed to make it through. All these new experiences that your kids are having are very normal. The way they handle those new challenges are mostly depended on what sort of mindset each of them have. Of course there are going to be…

Daughter leaving for BC 8/25 Help!

Anyonelse have a son/ daughter leaving this day?!

Leaving Norfolk in December

So I know I haven't been on here in awhile. I've been trying to keep myself busy with my crochet work& then after awhile just took a really long break on that too. I spoke with my Navy son the other day& he told me that he's going to be going to Hawaii& stationed on the USS John Paul Jones. I know I need to be more supportive but part of me is gonna go crazy because he'll be further away. I'd really like to see if any of y'all are part of a navy mom crochet group that I can join.
