Here we go

Night time is cruel! I lie in bed and my brain turns on. Last night I started to think that this time in two weeks, my boy will be off to find himself. Thankfully, it was a short trip. I was able to find refuge in slumber.

He says he is getting "itchy feet". He wants to get moving. I understand his… Continue

You know my husband has been so non emotional since our son has left for boot camp.  He was walking around saying sweetie he is okay don't worry he will be fine.  Or not really say anything.  Well today he said "the house seems a little bigger and alot more quieter. I miss really him"  Funny he seem so strong for me that I thought he was okay and understood all this more than me.  But I think he misses his buddy and partner in crime as much as I do. Continue

Waiting for an address

Got my 20 second call on monday.  Got my kid in a box on Thursday, Now all I am waiting on is an address.  I promised my son I would write him as much as possible, told him I would try to write him a letter every day.  Well I have been writing a letter every day.  However, these letters are sitting on my nightstand waiting for an address.  I am hoping he is so busy that he doesnt eventually notice that letters aren't coming yet.  I have read time after time how important letters from home…

Now I Get It

We got our official family visit for Greg starting DEP. It was interesting because all this time I heard ENT and it was EN2, my ears aren't quite what they used to be I guess; either that or they are pitched for screaming voices of elementary students instead of sailors.

The whole family didn't act up like I thought they would and were very interested in this new journey for my immediate family. I like the idea of going to meetings and preparing for the future. It was also so…

Let me tell you I cried, and cried. It is so hard to let go of this image of this little boy in your head, but yet knowing he is a young man.....

Michael is my first born, my first everything, whether it was learning to walk, from skinned knees to bikes,  to his first car, and let me say he is my first…

And with that, he's on his way...

Greetings, all! I'm a long-time lurker, but this is my first blog posting. My husband just left to go to RTC this week and we are both really excited to embark on this new Navy adventure together. I am definitely missing him, but trying to stay on the sunny side of life. I keep reminding myself that this is a marathon that just started, not a sprint. It gets better... right? :)
