3 days down...

I started writing letters...every day! I'd write down what was happening at home, news about family, silly stories about the dog, updates on his favorite team. It helped me to manage the missing and the worry and I tried to be uplifting and comforting. Even if they're short, they love and appreciate them. Send them in plain white envelopes, they are delivered by their DI and subject to scrutiny. Join his class' facebook page and check every day for pictures. I promise you it will get easier!… Continue

I'm thinking about my son.  Worried. Hoping he's ok.  Tears flowing when I think about it.  Anyone got any advice?

For my navy wives: Having trust in our Relationships

As navy wives, we go through basic training, A school and C school, and most of us will face a deployment in our life.  I wrote about having trust in our relationships and how important it seriously is in order to have a healthy relationship.  Hope it can help you in this journey you are currently on.

July 2014

Sailor(son) is in Groton and loving it but wanting to get started on classes. He is still on hold and patiently waiting for his security clearance. He is enjoying New England and the interesting sites around the area. He has been to NYC, Providence, Boston and Newport. In a couple of months he will have been in the Navy for a year. Wow it just doesn't seem like it.

Charleston Visit July 2014

Hello All,

Just got home from Charleston where I visited my Nuke in A school. We had a great time. Charleston is a smallish city, so getting around was easy, there were Navy people everywhere and military discounts are applied easily.

For example, our Nuke wore his NSU's to the Yorktown at Patriot's Point, and not only did he get in free, but my daughter and I got in for half price.

My daughter hadn't seen her brother in almost six months, and she noticed right away how…

2 Year Anniversary

I'm a few days late  with this. But here it is.

On July 2nd 2014, my Sailor celebrated his 2nd anniversary with the Navy. How can it have been that long already? It seems like just yesterday that he swore in at MEPS and left for boot camp.

I can…

The Box

Well today is  "heck" of a day... Its my Sons 21st Birthday, which is bad enough because I miss him so much, plus as a bonus  I got "The Box" today.  I didn't prepare myself for the that wave of emotion.  Needless to say not a good day.  But I found the PDay Itinerary extremely helpful.  I felt like I knew what he was doing and where he as been.  I cannot wait for the letter with his address..

Better days are ahead!  Still so proud.
