time moves slow

I can't believe it's Friday. This means 7 more to go. I can't remember when Friday's where so important to me. It's seems like pay day times 100.

I also got "the box"  On Tuesday. My daughter called me at work and said oh in case you are wondering what we got for mail you got the famous "box " .I cried again but this time with a sense of relief knowing time is moving faster than I realized.

I just want to say my daughter has been a great help. She will come up to me and…

Excited

Today was a great day, received another letter from my SR, he passed his RTC Assessment PFA n looks like he passed his PFA on Monday as well, he earned 2 ribbons "National Defense"(participation) and "Marksman". According to my SR I won't get a call tomorrow, glad he told me. But still I'm so proud of my son. Looking forward to PIR next week. I'm very excited. On end he told me to bring him his cellphone, lol.

Welcome to the Boot Camp Emotional Roller Coaster

When we started this NAVY journey, I had NO IDEA what I was in for. They don't have a "How to Survive Letting Go Of Your Child" pamphlet at the Recruitment Center. But, how could they? There's no way to tell a NAVY Mom/Dad that your heart will shatter into a billion little pieces, and swell with immense pride simultaneously. There's no timeline like the "Day By Day at Boot Camp" to help you get through your day by day. But, YOU DO. You feel as if the sadness will swallow you whole when…

Vehicles and sailors

I have a question.  My daughter is in Norfolk and she purchased a car there.  It's titled there, but her permanent address is with me in Wisconsin.  Since she has it titled there, she cannot be on our auto insurance.  How can she transfer that car to Wisconsin, her permanent address, so that she can be back on our auto insurance?  And will she have to get new plates that show Wisconsin and not Virginia?  I figured I would ask you all before I called the DMV to inquire.  Thanks!

Hey Guys,

My boyfriend is in RTC GREAT LAKES, he shipped off to bootcamp on June 8,2015 and is set to graduate next Friday July 31,2015. I'm concerned because I haven't received a call from him in 2 weeks. I haven't even received the "I'm a sailor" call. I received his letters this past Friday and in his letters he says that they are trying to hold him back a week. His mom met with his recruiter this week and his recruiter said not to worry. "RDC's tell recruites that to scare… Continue

boot camp

Another overwhelming day. My son left for boot camp today. It's not just him leaving for the Navy it's the life as I know it gone. There will be no more school activities,no making sure he is home at night or seeing him off for the day.The dinners at night the vacations as a family. And so much more. This is a chapter closed for my son and us.I know a new one opens but this is a hard one to turn the page quick.  And for the first time ever I saw my husband really cry. I know with time I will…

Updated Pictures Link

I've been searching and can't seem to find any current (more recent than 2011) pricing information and/or links about ordering picture/dvd packages.  I want to be sure my son gets an order in with enough copies to go around - LOL!

Thanks in advance!

Counting down....

Counting down by days almost, my baby has been gone 5 weeks and in 3 more he no longer will be my little man, he become a man standing up for the freedom of his nation. Nothing can make me more proud of my son. He always has been a hard working student, stay out of trouble and achieving big things during his school time. I remember one time getting a letter in the mail stating one of his highschool teachers had…

Thoughts and prayers to the families of the marines that were killed today and the injured sailor and police officer. So needless. This hits closer to my heart now than ever.

What A Trying Day.... Day 1

Today was the day that I saw my son change into a man right before my eyes. After he swore in, I hugged him so hard. It was a proud momma moment. The drive there was very long. I promised myself that I wouldn't cry in front of him. I didn't. We took lots of pictures and talked for hours. Then it was time for me to leave him. I kissed him and told him I loved him. I walked away and didn't look back. This is my last born, my baby boy. I lost him at an amusement park once when he was 5. It took…

Time Flies

So much has happened over the last few months and it seems like the days are now flying until my daughter leaves for boot camp. 41 days until I take her to MEPS and then she leaves the next day for RTC. I am so very proud of her and I know she will do fine, but she is my first-born and I am not happy about her leaving home. She has graduated top of her high school class, top 30%, 209 of 709 and I couldn't be happier. She turned 18 a few weeks ago and I know she is going to become the most…
