OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Quote of the Week:

Technology Is Our Friend (most of the time)

So Friday night I get a call from Joe. We chat about stuff and the subject of the webcam came up. When he was home after graduating C school he left us his webcam and said, I'll get another one and we can see each other. He went back and we never heard anymore about it. Then out of the blue Friday night he said let me see if I can get it mine working and I'll call you later. I didn't expect to hear from him again until the following weekend because he usually gets distracted and doesn't call… Continue

Sailor Quote Sunday

"Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!"

Admiral David Glasgow Farragut (1801-1870). Aboard Hartford, Farragut entered Mobile Bay, Alabama, 5 August 1864, in two columns, with armored monitors leading and a fleet of wooden ships following. When the lead monitor Tecumseh was demolished by a mine, the wooden ship Brooklyn stopped, and the line drifted in confusion toward Fort Morgan. As disaster seemed imminent, Farragut gave the orders embodied by these famous words. He swung his own… Continue

Inner Strength

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment

If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct… Continue

I Believe

Another neat thing that was emailed to me and I wanted to share with y'all!!

Birth Certificate shows that we were born

A Death Certificate shows that we died

Pictures show that we lived!

Have a seat . . Relax . . . And read this slowly.

I Believe...

That just because two people argue,

it doesn't mean they don't love each other.

And just because they don't argue,

it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I… Continue

When Your Hut's on Fire...

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island.

He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him.

Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had… Continue

Meaning of Flag Draped Coffin

Another interesting item that was emailed to me and I thought I would share.

All Americans should be given this lesson. Those who think that America is an arrogant nation should really reconsider that thought. Our founding fathers used GOD's word and teachings to establish our Great Nation and I think it's high time Americans get re-educated about this Nation's history. Pass it along and be proud of the country we live in and even more proud of those who serve to protect our "GOD… Continue

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT...

This was emailed to me and I thought I would share it with my praying friends on here.

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT....

This is the scariest election We as Christians have ever faced.

From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian

values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word?

Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold.

His scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership… Continue

Another Inspirational Picture

I hope the picture will go through for you - of this Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny 'plot' of grass in front of his tent. It's heartwarming! Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt (U.S. soil),! fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American… Continue

Oh Yeah!!! Love this Comeback

Someone just emailed this to me - thought I would share it.

But I do agree with this comment,

OH YEAH!

Love This Comeback

Gather Your Things and Come on Over

When starting this blog I also considered calling it Pay It Forward, because that is the message that I want to pass on. In the movie Pay It Forward (I have not seen it - but I’ve heard it is awesome!), a young boy does something good for three people and then encourages them to do something good for three more people - thereby, making a difference in this world. I feel that is the purpose of the website, Navy for Moms.

Let me explain with an example. On…
