Kid In A Box

Well I received my kid in a box today and the form letter. I am so happy. So glad to have it and the info. I am so proud of him for doing what he wants to do and that was joining the Navy.

Frustrated, and feeling bad about it

Ok, so my son left last week September 14th and as of today I haven't gotten the box or the letter. I am feeling so jealous of those mom's who have gotten one or both, those who already know the Ship and Div and most importantly their PIR date!

It's hard doing this long distance...my son lived with his dad in Maryalnd and I'm in Florida. Not easy to begin with but even harder when you are trying so hard to stay in the loop of what is going on. So this morning I tried calling…

When is Graduation?

My son is leaving Oct.4th for boot camp. His graduation should be the Friday after Thanksgiving, but because of the holiday will it be the following Friday? I am trying to make my plans for attending. Also, where would I stau on base? I have a military ID and so I wanted to get a room on base.

Chnages..changes

We have had a couple of change in plans..My Grandmother informed me last night that she wasn't going to attend PIR (our Sailor will be disappointed), but I don't think I will let him know until after BS21 or just show up at the PIR w/o her. I don't want to give him any news that will disappoint or upset him. I kind of knew this would happened but he insisted on reserving a ticket for her!!! Am I wrong, for not letting him know in advance? :-(

Since my husband & I are driving and… Continue

Quick Question...

I received a letter from my daughter today and am a little confused... :) She said 25 days to PIR (10/08) and only 39 days until I can come home, she claims that she is only in A School in Pensacola for 2 weeks.... Does that sound right??? I called her recruitor today, but he hasn't called back, what a shocker!!! I was told by him before she left for BC that she would be in A Schhol maybe 2 to 3 months. She is Aviation. I am just confused, and until I hear from her again I may not know…

FINALLY!!!!

My son graduated from A school on Aug 24th and finally orders came thru and can come home on leave on Monday the 20th, almost a month later. Chief messed up the orders the first time and all had to be sent back to be done all over again. All this has been very frustrating but Im sure it won't be the first time and certainly not the last. All this will be repeated in a few months when son #2 leaves for boot camp in the spring. Anyway my son assures me he will get his full 2 weeks although his… Continue

Got it bad tonight.

Up early (yuck), subbing in a (nice) 4th grade classroom. One of 17 subs in the building, what a day. Home, dog out, dog fed (happy dog), no mail from "his lordship", but hope springs eternal. Al home, then off to the Y for racquetball, I'm doing dinner, feeling a little off, no big deal. Dining, not a bad din-din. Dishes. Nothing new. Finally, sat on the couch, PBS (begging), James Taylor & Carol King singing songs I sang along with in the 70's. Up…
