Missing my daughter

Well my baby girl...yes I'm going to call her my baby since she was my first born after all, left for BC on Sept 10th. The months and weeks prior to her leaving I felt fine. People kept asking me "How are you doing", and I would always reply I'm fine and felt that way. Her and I are very close, we have a great mother daughter relationship. She is in fact my best friend, and it has just always been that way. So she had to arrive at MEPS the Sunday before her fly out to do last paper work and…

Well today my son had his surgery and doing well. Was the longest four and a half hrs ever, specially when you are just waiting for a phone call, his HM2 was kind enough to be the contact between my son and I during the surgery, they really look out for each other there and I am so greatful. But he is done an was told it was a successful surgery very relieved. He was able to speak with me sounded good and even remembered to withme a Happy Birthday so all good and well.

What a diference a year makes...

This time last year we were leaving to head to Great Lakes for our oldest sons PIR.  The entire trip, including the 15 hour car trip with my husband and other 2 children, was one of the greatest times of our lives.  I wish I could do it again!!  Fast forward he is now only 5 hours away and we see him as much as possible...who knows how long that will last!  Loving it for now and savoring every moment..

Thanks to those who helped

1. Thanks to those who responded kindly. Sorry for my choice of words.. I mistakenly said tickets (shame on me)
2. To those snarky unhelpful folks, YES I Have read EVERYTHING I could get my hands on in regards PIR! I also knoW that I was told ONLY 4 when my son left for boot camp yet they didn't even ASK for names and ALL got in. So what is SAID and WHAT happens is different.

I hope all have a wonderful evening.

A school

Does anyone have a sailor that left on 9/7/13 for A school at Point Loma, San Diego? My sailor is going to be a Sonar tech on a ship (not a sub).

Training for RTC Oct 3rd, 2013

I entered DEP at 204 lbs of muscle, never ran. I cleaned up my diet. Ran everyday with my wife. She has lost 60lbs in 6 months. I've lost 20 lbs in 3 months. The key to success for military is to set a goal, and work your hiney off and be disciplined. I'm 27 and I feel like I can help these younger guys who struggle. We are one! We are AMERICA'S NAVY
