I understand your frustrations. We to have not heard from our son. We recieved the generic letter and the box and that's it so far. Graduation scheduled for Nov 23 ship 14 Div 14. Not able to attend and its breaking my heart.
I had the honor of attending my son's Pass In Review on the 237th birthday of the Navy in the company of about four thousand fellow spectators. On this graduation day, one fully appreciates the magnitude of committment our sons and daughters have made. You feel the power of the United States Navy and the glory of our country. As I heard 1100 voices loudly and proudly recite the Sailors Creed and sing Anchors Away, my eyes repeatedly welled. I believe the Navy's newest sailors also felt the…

Home from a wonderful time at our Sons Graduation Ship 11 DIV 331... Words can not even begin to discribe the feelings at graduation. He looked great told alot of funny stories but all in all he said it was a good experience :) He left early Saterday morning for Texas and I have not talked to him yet. I know he is fine but would love to hear how Texas is?
Try to soak it all in. We loved the Navy Lodge :)

I am excited! My husband booked a hotel for our son's PIR on November 30. We are staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott, Chicago Lake Forest/Mettawa. It looks like a nice place and the rates are fairly reasonable but most importantly-- it isn't very far from base. Hopefully my stepson's PIR date does not change!
Can't wait for PIR now...can't wait to see my stepson in his uniform. I hope is doing fine and isn't too homesick. :)

I am leaving in four days to attend my SR PIR on 10/19 and I still have not received the final call giving my the 'password' to print my info to get onto the base and to give him our guest list! Is that normal. I am getting very concerned and just need to know how others have experienced this. Thanks!

My son's PIR is Nov. 21, day before Thanksgiving. We are hoping that he will get liberty so we can visit a few days with him. His A school will be at Great Lakes also. He is Ship 12 Div 010. Anyone else know? We will be traveling from PA.

My daughter is graduating from BC on 10/19. She is supposed to go to sonar school and was told she would go to San Diego by the recruiter. If she is going to San Diego will she go the day after PIR or will she have liberty so we can spend some more time with her?

My son arrived at Great Lakes Oct 2 for his bc. I still as of today have not received "the box", the form letter, or a letter from him. I found out today why I haven't been able to contact his recruiters. One had a death in the family & the other a sick kid. They have been out of the office since last Thur & won't be back in until Monday. So now I am sitting here with a letter & phone cards ready to mail to Cyle with no address. Needless to say I am driving myself crazy with the…

Hello,
my daughter is in A School in Fort Lee VA, she was on hold for one week and started school on October 1st. She told me that she might come home on October 26th. Is A school 5\6 weeks?
I was hoping she would come home a week before Thanksgiving and have the two weeks off. Also, I heard that it depends on if they need her right after A school she might not be able to come home.
Has anyone experience or know how long is A School? Is it less then 5 weeks. Also, after…

I have been reading blogs for the last 3 weeks but not a member. I couldn't stand it anymore! My son is also on
ship 02 division 901. It is nice to hear from others who have loved ones in the same division. It makes me feel a little better but still no letter.
I just have tons of mixed feelings about all this. I am signing my daughter's contract today after work as she is just 17. She says this is what she really wants to do. She is motivated by the education she can get. Cannot afford the cost of college and the scholarships aren't enough. I will be the emptynester I guess. Anyone feel free to comment back.
