My sailor <3
To touch his face once again
My hands tremble at the thought
To hold his hand once again
My palms being to sweat
To kiss his lips once again
My lips quiver and part
To hear his sweet voice once again
My ears being to ring
To feel his heart beat once again
My heart races and flutters
To be wrapped up in his arms of love once again
My body fills… Continue

Okay all of you Moms or anyone that has been to PIR please help!! Is it best to drive your vehicle to the PIR or just take the shuttle from the hotel? My husband is on the Navy For Dads webpage, and it says from the gate it is 4 SHORT blocks ??? Sometimes Men's definition of a block is very different than that of a woman. So what are your thoughts ??? Thanks Anita PIR 12/17

Last week, the area was hit by miserable ice, and AK stands for Alaska not Arkansas, some folks get that confused. So the week that my girl left was actually not the longest week, last week was because I was waiting for the mail to be able to run. I couldn't get out of my own driveway. The University, schools, and local area businesses were closed. We are use to having 30 below in November not 30 above. It reached 35 above at my house, the ice came off the roof with horrendous noise, and the… Continue

So I'm definitely new to this site, new to this lifestyle.
I decided to start this blog on N4M to put myself out there a little more on the site,be more active in it, and hopefully help/share experiences with someone that is going through the same thing that I am.
As of right now, I'm engaged to my sailor whose at NWS Charleston, and I'm living in Georgia. This is my first "long-distance" relationship, but I'm proud of how well we have done this far, and it… Continue

The time is flying by, but we spent Thanksgiving with both my boys, wanted to make sure my daughter and I spent time with them before they leave for boot camp jan. I am going to miss my boys so so much I can't describe what I am already feeling. I know I won't hug one good bye before the other. Both will be hugged at the same time. : )

We are staying in Chicago the whole weekend with our sailor, however she will be require to stay on base for 5 hours after the graduation ceremony. Any suggestions if there is stuff to do there on base or near the base? Or we should return to the hotel & wait for her there? Take train to Great Lakes or rent car, they say driving is awful if one doesn't know their way around in town?

Since our son joined the Navy, as a family, we decided to donate all the money we would have spent on Christmas gifts and bought supplies for the troops. I also sent out an e-mail asking friends and family for donations of things the troops really need. The outcome was amazing! We packed up three big boxes, included a letter, and sent them out. That feeling alone of giving back was far greater than any gift we could receive. I wish we would have done this long ago, but in this case, better… Continue

Our Thanksgiving Day was fantastic as we got a surprised call from our granddaugther, she sounded & is doing great. It really made our holiday as an exceptional blessed day. She was with a group of recruits that were bused to a nearby VFW for a day of relaxing, cell phone access, TV, video games & great food. Thanks to all the VFW that sponsor the special holiday food for our recruits & may God blessed them & their… Continue

Has anyone got the web site address to the scheduling office for the Navy.
I need to send them an e-mail telling them I will pay to have my son flown to Florida.

I have a son in San Antonio. We were worried about him being away from family for his first Thanksgiving but he told he was invited to a Police Officer's home for Thanksgiving dinner. That relieved some of our concern...until my son called last night and said the guy never called to meet up with him to get directions. That completely blew my Thanksgiving cheer. By the time, they figured nothing was going to happen and the person wasn't going to call there was no time to get to Thanksgiving… Continue

Hello, Anyone who kids just left for Bootcamp? I have been crying every day since. I am so emotional and didn't think I would be seeing that I and her Father were both in the Navy and we both know what to expect. I think it is even worse in a why cause we both know it was no "Cake Walk". She said she wouldn't be able to call for another 3 weeks. Is that right?

I was looking at my facebook, checking out all the pictures from the recruits Thanksgiving. Finally, I found a picture of him and some friends. He looks hansome in his uniform and most of all HAPPY. Thank you to all volunteers that gave up their Thanksgiving to make sure that the recruits had a hot meal and a Happy Thanksgiving. Most of all Thanks for the Picture.

Hope everyone had a GREAT DAY today!! So Happy to hear from my Son. He got to leave the base and go to eat at the VFW in Chicago. They let them call on the bus ride there, for a short call, then when they got there he called like 5 times through out the day! He sounded like he was doing great! He said the people at the VFW were very nice to them (about 173) sailors were there. They had lots of cell phones for them to use and computers set up, TV'S , XBOXE'S . I think it was a very nice day for… Continue
