My boyfriend :(

All I want is to just get my first letter already! My boyfriend arrived at bootcamp on November 1st and I miss him more and more with each passing day. I write him everyday even though I can't send it yet but it gives me comfort in a way. All I can do is just look at our pictures and reread his old ( i love you ) texts. My birthday was on the 14th and not being able to be with him killed me. My moms birthday present is to fly me to Chicago for his graduation!! I can't wait to see his handsome… Continue

just sayin'...

Well imagine that! After finally receiving the form letter and was so happy to get those letters out...I'm feeling all anxious again. Sometimes time moves so slow when you're waiting on something. I think I have a new found respect for the post office, because suddenly what they will deliver to me means the world and a life line to my son. I have to admit that I thought I would be able to throw myself into work to keep myself occupied and my mind off missing my son, however the complete…

1st letter

My daughter is in Ship 11 Div 031. I have yet to receive any letters from her!! Got the form letter & her box in about a week. Been over 3 weeks now without a letter. Only live 4 hours from Great Lakes! Called her recruiter. What a joke. He said to call the recruit command. That would not be good for her!! This is my second time going through boot camp. My oldest daughter is a Marine. Should I be worried?

The call

So we got the call @1:09 am! He sounded so sad and almost robotic. It was as if he had a script in front of him. Then I said Hun are you ok? His response was without emotion, he said yeah but I have to go...I love you...and then click-phone call ended!

Where would I buy a Navy mom shirt along with Navy sisters ?  It's been a week & have made a promise to my son everyday while he is in bc I go for a walk started last Tue the day he left.   The walk is to connect with him while he is working hard and I endure all weather conditions,lol.. but need to get the shirt to support my son, this week has taken a toll on his sisters with Thanksgiving next week along with finals. I ordered a meal to pick up at Kowalskis since I won't feel like…

Mail while deployed

Is there any rhyme or reason to when a ship has a mail call? My daughter is deployed and I haven't heard from her in several weeks but last time I got an email she had not recieved my package that I mailed 5 weeks prior. I can't imagine how difficult it is to get mail to a ship!  But I was wondering if there is some kind of rule of thumb?

Gift idea for someone that has a child leaving for Boot Camp. :)

I am a new Navy Aunt…. My niece is a SR (Ship 12 Div 010). This is just an idea if you have a sister or other loved one, or even your own child that is leaving for boot camp. Before my niece left for boot camp,  I had her a ~Navy Party~ (as my 5 year old son called it)…. With gifts and games and stuff. My sister was being very strong for her, but  her heart was heavy because of the idea of being separated…

Sibling support

My 12 year old daughter is having a tough time with the idea of her brother leaving... does anyone know of any great resources for kids... books, movies,  activities, words of wisdom?

The box

I got my "Kid in a box" last night 11-12 I was not home when it came as we were at the hospital visiting my Grams in the ICU. Weired thing was I didn't cry or get sad I found comfort as he was part of the day (the best part). Justin has always been the one to keep me grounded, and last night I was shown that will never change. Now just waiting on the form letter so we can write him and the best part his PIR date!
