One Year ago today "Levi"

I wanted to give a warm and HUGE, THANK YOU to Navy for Moms. One year ago today, I learned the true meaning of N4M's while the site was still in its infancy. I believe I am mom 327, My son had left for Boot Camp and PIR 5/2 was 10 days away. I received the frightening phone call from him at the North Chicago VA, that he had been admitted with Guillian Barre Syndrome. A very nice nurse had asked him if he had spoken to his parents yet, he had not and he let him use his cell phone. While, I liste… Continue

Levi is Home!!

We finally have him home! He flew in Wednesday afternoon, Wendy from Queens Creek, was also there to greet him and keep me strong, what a wondeful mom, she brought me a bouquet of flowers and snacks for Levi and Joey. We kept Levi to ourselves to help him transition back, Levi is doing well and we are so happy to have him home. Went to church this morning to give thanks. We appreciate all of our wondeful moms here for the prayer and support you have given us during this long 6 months. Your words… Continue

Levi did his best.

Well he tried the best he could to become a Sailor. But God must have another plan for Levi instead. The Guillian Barre has returned, the numbness is from toes to ankles. He met with a Neurologist, he will not need the IVIG for any further treatment, rest and moderate exercise is what is needed now. He has met with different personnel this past week from Medical Director to Social Workers. Next week he will have another complete physical just to see where he is at for further recommendation of c… Continue

Levi left a message

I feel so bad for Levi, he called home and left a message that he didn't pass and hoped we were not dissapointed him for not being able to graduate this Friday. He knows his dad and I carry our cell phones, but I think he just couldn't say it to us. He has been through so much and it's okay, he can try again, I wish I could just let him hear that, but I will write him tonight. Please say a prayer for him, I know he must be hurting. Continue

Levi update

If you have been following Levi's progress, than you will understand this Blog. His Dad and I have been so worried about him since he was transfered from the NCVA on May 9th, we had received a very sad, letter on the therapy that had been provided which did not follow through with what was recommended. We had no idea whether the Gillian Barre Syndrome and his Bells Palsy was increasing or decreasing. We have had trouble contacting someone to give us any info on his care. But, we have a huge amou… Continue

Levi has been trasferred to Tranquility

Hello wonderful Mom's, just an update on how things have been going. I've been without a computer so now that I am home, I can keep up with all of you. Levi has been so motivated and has almost all of his feelings back in his hands and legs. It was pretty tough. Last week he got Bells Palsy to the left side of his face and of course, no answer to how that happened, but we see it as just another bump in the road. He has trouble closing his left eye and eating. He doesn't like the fact that people… Continue

I need your prayers for my Levi, please.

I never thought I would be asking for your help and prayers but my Levi needs them more than ever and so do I. I received a call from him this evening. He was rushed to the VA Hospital because he could not feel his legs, feet, arms and hands, he couldn't move. He said he's had the flu, possibly bronchitis, barely a voice for the past week. He thought maybe he was just getting really tired the past few days feeling like his body was heavy, he wanted to keep pushing himself so that he could make i… Continue
