Wondering

I wonder what will become of this career in the Navy.Chris is a smart cookie and I hope he stays in until retirement. I think he could easily do 20 years plus and come out on top. He's good at discipline and being a leader. I can see him taking this all the way. I miss my son terribly. I do get to talk to him every weekend for now, but I know it won't always be that way. So, I'm soaking it up now. Hearing how well he's doing in school and keeping me posted on his progess with the Navy has made… Continue

Missing Chris

I have missed Chris' calls three weeks in a row. So, it's been a month since I last spoke to him. I get little bits and pieces of updates from Corey, his brother, and his fiance', Kelsey, that he's doing okay. I miss him terribly and I hope he calls today. I miss him SO much that it physically hurts sometimes. My… Continue

He went back to Dr. today and they released him to clean and wrap his own wound. The hole in his thumb from where they drained and dug out the infection is starting to close. Chris was rather breif on whether or not the bad part was over. I think that he's withholding more info as not to worry me any further. With that sai… Continue

Home for the Holidays

Chris is fortunate enough to be home for Christmas and New Years. Although, I'm finding it harder to let him go since now he has a life other than with family. All I ask is that he be home for dinner most nights and that seems to have worked thus far. I was able to go down to the gate to greet him back home and I hope to return to the gate for his farewell. Chris keeps reminding that he may not be home next year for the Holidays. (Oh, my thoughts are everywhere, I'm sorry about that.) I do, of c… Continue
