What a Difference a Year Can Make . . .

A 'Picture' Perfect Leave . . .

After the 'scare' of a cancelled flight because of the winter storms in Chicago, almost two hours on the phone with the airlines, and the blessing of a friend and fellow sailor who left O'Hare to drive back to Great Lakes to get him back to O'Hare for an earlier flight, we were LUCKY enough to have Bryan home for over 2 weeks:)! WhooHoo - Road Trip, October 2008 . . . part 2

Headed north on 101 . . . MUCH more scenic than I-5, even tho' Eric slept thru many of the better views, LOL:)! Pulled into Santa Clara around 4pm - SOOOO glad to see my parents:)! Arizona Get-Together . . . (or I get to meet my 'imaginary' friends!)

I had an extremely stressful and tiring week last week, too much work, too little sleep, by Friday I am READY for the weekend. IT'S NOT FAIR . . .

that 15 years ago my brother was in a car accident that left his wife with brain damage and his two and a half year old son a quadraplegic. It's not fair that Tony has had to grow up with so much intelligence and be unable to control his body. As I've been chatting (WAY TOO MUCH!!!) I keep seeing how many of you wonderful Navy moms are teachers, and I thought "Wow, that's surprising!" Then I realized that its not at all surprising that women who give selflessly of themselves for so many children (and young adults) every day would raise young men and women who would choose to serve our country. WOW . . . 3/21 PIR, Great Lakes!

Took off from Tucson Int'l Airport at 6:05 Thursday morning (where it got up to 80 degrees that day) - arrived at O'Hare around 11:30 local time. After collecting our luggage we caught the shuttle to National Car Rental, where I was talked into an upgrade to 4WD midsize SUV (well worth it!)
