**N4M Admin Speaks Out About Feelings, & Abusing Deleting Powers.**

Hello Everyone:
I'm not going to lie. I felt horrified today when I read a blog (which I ended up deleting) from somebody made it a point to make members feel uncomfortable for how they may expresses things. This is my response:
It's utterly unacceptable!

Mother’s…. and non- mothers are dealing with this Navy experience differently. And they view life a little differently than you will...this isn’t going to change. In fact, this blog (that I deleted) not only alienated members but made them feel uncomfortable. *shakes head*

(And I will repeat it as many times as I need to: The rule is- everybody love everybody):

http://www.navyformoms.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1971797%3ABlogPost...

http://www.navyformoms.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1971797%3ABlogPost...

It says on our front page “Share genuine feelings, real answerers and proud moments”…
Some moms will keep their feelings, answers, and moments short and simple, some moms will not. They are expressing themselves and I think- we as a community should not judge them… but support them.
We come here because we need help.
We need know we are not alone.
We need advice.
There isn’t guidelines on how they have to approach the situation (other than to be civil while doing it).
We are mothers.
We are family.
We are here for a purpose.
And it’s not for threads like that. Please do NOT attack what other mothers share with us. If occurrences happen like this again, then threads/blogs/ and/or comments will be deleted… By me, your admin.

BUT- I was MORE horrified by the fact that when the community and I responded to this hateful blog- this person deleted the comments that didn’t reflect their own. When you start your own thread/blog… you are allowed to delete comments that people post. But it’s NOT to be abused. You can agree to disagree, but let’s be civil/adults/smart about it.
And when I, the admin, (and I don’t like to comment that much)- but when I do comment- don’t delete it. I am putting it there for a REASON. If it is deleted, it’s grounds for banning.

*sigh*
Sincerely, Your Admin, Catherine

Thank you Catherine, I was caught between feeling appalled and p___ offed when I came across the site. Clearly everyone may handle their feelings different but I just want to say have some compassion. Glad you are on top of things.

Hey Vikki:
Thank you for your comment. : )
I felt the blog was offensive. And we BOTH know that if you want to debate something publicly, that you should be able to let BOTH sides talk it out and not take low blows in trying to prove a point. That was ignored by this person (even when I had PM’ed them).
My job is to create some type of peace amongst the boards and it was on a starting to get ugly. I am NOT here to get catty with people. I am here to help and lay some ground rules... And with that… some of these ground rules we have to find them along the way and lay them out… as they come to us.
Sincerely, Catherine

Vikki:
Hmmm. We might have to agree to disagree on this one. I have reread the deleted post again before writing this- and I think she mentioned 3 groups (1 blanket term, a small group... and one mom where she didn't state the name... but I knew who she was talking about). So, not only was she attacking a person, but a small group, and X% of our community. Now I admit- I am on this site ALL the time maybe most of the members wouldn’t know who she was referring too… but I did. If the blogger would have been open to other opposing views and a good honest debate on her blog then she could have still been here today. But she wasn't. Moving forward, your thoughts are noted and always appreciated. Sincerely, Catherine
