I can hardly believe it, but he sent me pics already showing it's real...

We had a wonderful party Saturday for him... friends and family were so supportive in every way! Everyone brought one of his favorite foods to enjoy! It was also a celebration of his 18 birthday, a little early!

My eyes are stinging from all of the tears over the past few days and I have a constant lump in my throat sort of feeling.

I am soooo sad seeing him go but on the other hand, I'd be even more sad if he didn't chase his dreams and desires.

He hugged me so hard...the kind of hug I guess he hoped would last weeks, I can still feel it.

My family and friends are all lighting a candle and saying a prayer (a party favor idea I got from here) tonight...that will be special! And my son and husband each released one of the party balloons this afternoon...I will release mine tonight.

It's hard to focus on what to say or write at this moment, but I'm sure I will on here again soon...checking for updates and looking for understanding and support.

I hope everyone here is well, anyone else leave today??

I am glad to hear everything went well.

Did you get your phone call Monday night letting you know he was there?

Have you gotten his mailing address yet? I was able to get Garretts today and put a letter in the mail.

I was sooooo depressed Monday felt sick most of the day however once he call (@1:38am) things were better! My biggest worries were how he was going to handle all the yelling. I asked him how it was going and he said "its not as bad as what I had prepared myself for, all you have to do is pay atten and listen to what they are saying" what a releif I was scared I was going to be one of the moms getting the first phone call telling me how awful and how he couldn't handle it.

Hi! Glad you found me on FB...now we can chat there, I think you said that it easier for you...I know what you mean...I was on and off crying all day Monday and just felt physically zapped of energy and weak. This has been a true test of my sanity and I'm sure more difficult days lie ahead! I just worry about any little thing going wrong and his dream ending...he has talked about this since he was little so I hope everything goes well. I miss his smile so much, and his voice telling us goodnight and that he loves us...Oh, and yes, we got the 15 sec call and the address...thank goodness! Hang in there, as you can see, you're not alone!
