Our son has been set back and is supposed to re-do his run this coming Tuesday. I know that we are not the first, and unfortunately we won't be the last family to go thru this. My question is; If your child has had this happen and they passed the run were they able to participate in the next scheduled graduation? He has passed all of his other requirements. All he has to do is make the run and complete battle stations. I am heart broken for our son, we were all looking forward to time together this weekend. Any information will be greatly appreciated. One final note - his A school is in Great Lakes

I'm sorry to hear this! ~ your son will be able to graduate as soon as he passes his run/battle stations. If he passes it this Tuesday than he will graduate that Friday, according to my fiance.

A-School depends on what his job is.

Good luck to you and your sailor!

They work very closely with them to get them thru that last critical run. I believe we have a group here called FIT and those are recruits that needed extra help with their runs. I'll see if I can find it for you -

It maybe a temporary set back for your son but it will not have any negative impact on his future as a Sailor.

Thank you both. Mary, that forum is just what I needed. I know that there are other moms out there going thru the same thing but to actually be able to read their posts brought me to tears but helps me realize that I am not alone.
His next run will be Tuesday - time to start sending those positive vibes and prayers.

We are with you Vickie - he has come too far now, the Navy WANTs him to graduate but they are very firm about passing this run and he ...will!!!
