OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Attending PIR vital information.

I just returned from PIR 5/25/2012. What an awesome experience. I must say the very best thing we did was contact Sarge! For those of you ho do not yet know who Sarge is, let me explain...He is rertired Army and hosts a meet and Greet the night before PIR. He provides not only food for everyone, but unbelievable accurate information regarding everything about the day.

Prior to leaving, I made arrangements for Sarge to pick up our party of four at Ohare Airport. From that moment on, he completely took care of us! From taxi rides to wonderful dining recommendations, he made the whole experience amazing! When he met my new Sailor right after PIR, he gave him awesome advice. Every single thing he told us to expect was exactly what happened!

I am so happy I did not rent a car or take a random taxi from the airport. I met people who paid almost double what we paid. He offers flat guaranteed rates and for anyone he brings in from the Airport, he shuttles you th the base and back for free! That's right, you don't have to print those parking passes and wait in the line of cars that took some people almost two hours!

One more thing, make sure to talk with him regarding hotels before you book! Some people got stuck in really bad places! We stayed at the Spring Hill Suites and it was great! Thank you Sarge for making our stay in Great Lakes so enjoyable! We will never forget you!
