You have placed her in the best hands of all--those of God and the US Navy.

I left info on your My Page.

Hi Nitchy! My husband left for BC 8/23, it's been so hard without a letter and phone call yet but I hope and pray that we will be getting it this week and a phone call this weekend. And everything will get better by then. Make him leave you a voicemail on your phone so you can listen to it whenever you're sad and just want to hear his voice, I wish I did it before my husband left. And A LOT of prayers!!! <33333333

I hope your daughter had lots of luck with her travel! Have you gotten the "I'm here. I'm safe." call, yet? You have to let them get through the script, and then you won't have time to say more than "I love you" before they have to hang up. The time is tightly controlled.

I swear I teared up at every single step of boot camp! The box, the form letter, each call, battle stations... I didn't even get to take the call where he got to say he'd made it, and now I'm going to cry again! You'll be so proud of her that the discomfort of waiting will be worth it.

Not yet but she text me to say they landed and we're on way to basic. That's going to be hard only like 5 minutes phone call maybe less I don't know. Thank you for your message!!! It helps!!!

tI is tough. I think that call for us was less than two minutes! You won't have time for questions.

Tonight is going to be pretty uncomfortable for her and all of her brand new shipmates, but it's supposed to be. That's hard to take as a mom, but part of building them into Sailors is giving them a connection to each other and helping them to separate from their "past lives." They'll be rushed through different steps of getting equipment and medical. It'll be disorienting and unpleasant, but it won't be miserable. She'll make it, and as she does, she'll be gaining teammates that'll help her get through the rest of BC.

Hang in there, and try to hold back the tears until *after* she hangs up :-)  (Good grief, I'm tearing up again! There's so much pride in these kids!)

My son left on sept. 12, this week too.  I have cried for the last 3 days hoping the 36hour thing went ok and missing him so much.

Prayers for all of you!  My son left today.  He called from the airport just before boarding and it was all I could do not to cry.  Tonight is going to be a long night.

Nitchy. My granddaughter left August 1st and I know what you're going through. Your call from boot camp will be hi Mom I'm here you will get a box and I'll couple weeks and I'll call you again in a couple weeks goodbye. Our granddaughter cry through that call and then the next time she called she cried the whole time and then the third time she sounded better. She will graduate next week. Hang in there Mom your girl will do great. They will make her a part of a team and she will find herself making new friends that have her back. Don't worry if she cries they're supposed to. They are making her into a sailor. Just keep in contact with these Navy mom and I'll walk you through every stage of this. Prayers for her the next few days will be good because the first 72 hours are jam-packed.
