BRAND NEW NAVY MOMS~anyones kids leave on Nov. 24th 2010?????

Hello, Anyone who kids just left for Bootcamp? I have been crying every day since. I am so emotional and didn't think I would be seeing that I and her Father were both in the Navy and we both know what to expect. I think it is even worse in a why cause we both know it was no "Cake Walk". She said she wouldn't be able to call for another 3 weeks. Is that right?

Three weeks is about right, and even that is a maybe. Some get to call earlier.

Hang in there! Have you joined the New Moms group yet?

I hope you are hanging in there and had a good Thanksgiving. You should be hearing from your SR soon. Please let me know if you have any questions. I was like you. I cried all the time and sometimes still do. I can't believe how much has changed in less than a year. My thoughts and prayers are with you :-)

My son just left for boot camp on the 22nd. I feel your pain. I have cried every day. It has only been one week, but it feels like so much longer. It is so quiet around here. I know this is a great decision our children have made, but this was the worst Thanksgiving of my life. I will pray for you and please pray for me.

I thought I was losing my mind. My 17 year old only son is in boot camp. He left on Nov.15th. I just received my first letter today! He sounds good. He misses home but only had positive things to say. He graduates Jan 14th. I have cried everyday several times a day until now. He is good. I am proud. It's okay to cry, I had my first Thanksgiving without him, his 18th birthday is Dec. 2, I will not be with him for my birthday, Christmas, or New Years. Start writing letters now, keep a journal so you can remember what has happened at home. And yes, cry. He wrote that he was folding his clothes perfectly and that I would be happy at how he makes his bed. I miss him more than I thought I could, but he's safe and I'm happy to know he's good.

Wow You just made me cry! that is how much I miss my little girl. My daughter never made her bed and I always used to grip about that. Now I guess she will be making her bed.

I know exactly how you feel, my son left for BC Nov. 18th and just on Fri the 26th I got an information letter giving us his address and PIR date. At the bottom of the letter there is 3 lines for them to write you. Which I was excited to see. But now we have the address we send out a letter pretty much everyday. I sent a calling card and stamps also I made up some address labels and return address lables so he doesn't have to take the time writing all that. I'll invite you as a friend and we can stay in touch, this site really does help knowing you aren't alone.

I talked to my son's recruiter today and got my son's address. He told me about this website: www.bootcamp.navy.mil and click on families. I did not see my son's division on the graduation schedule, but it should be on the next posting. Just thought I'd add this to anyone who is as blind as I am. Lots of prayers go out to all of you and please continue to pray for my family as well.
