Hi everyone,

My daughter shipped for boot camp on 5/23, she would have done her 1.5 mile run on Friday (probably) so I figured I'd probably receive a call by Wednesday stating she was coming home/being separated if she didn't pass ( the first or second try). I have been concerned about the run due to the fact that she was told NOT to exercise because she needed to gain weight for MEPS, therefore she didn't practice running.  I received a call this afternoon stating " This is a recorded message from recruit #####, I am calling to inform you to disregard the letter that you will receive with my division number and graduation date, I have been moved to division ??? with a graduation date of 8/3, you will receive a new form letter with this information". It was my daughter speaking but she sounded so robotic, I said "love you honey, miss you and I'm so proud of you" prior to the phone hanging up. Does this mean she passed the dreaded run?! I have been praying that she would. Anyone know or receive a similar call?

It means she did not make her time in her run and will have another chance to make time in her 1.5 run. Fingers crossed and praying she does make her time and can move forward to her graduation date.

Rose, yes, since she gave you a division number and a PIR date, then she did pass the initial run on either the first or second attempt. The Form Letter is not supposed to be mailed until after the recruit passes the initial run and is placed in a division, which means she passed. The call you received was scripted and supervised and that is why she sounded as she did and why there was no chitchat allowed.

It appears from posts recently from several loved ones that some form letters went home with wrong info. Perhaps there were not enough recruits to fill your recruit's original division and so she and others were moved to fill another division with a later PIR date and some divisions will be skipped in her original TG. At least one pair of brother divisions was moved to a later TG since I know of recruits from three different divisions (and there may be others that I have not seen) that have made calls or calls were made on their behalf stating to disregard the form letter that had been sent and giving a new division number. We will have a better idea once the division numbers are posted at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/tg_grad_dates.html.

The info that those above gave you would have been the case if she had failed the second PFA in about week four after initially passing the initial run test and was then ASMO'd to a later TG, but she has not been at the RTC long enough for that to have happened. She may be able to give you more info on what happened once she writes.

In the meantime, start planning for PIR on 08/03/2018.

Wow, this is so confusing.  My daughter shipped out on 5/16, we then received the phone call she arrived and was safe.  About 2 weeks later received the box.  Yesterday, 6/4 we received the form letter with mailing address and graduation date of 7/13 but after reading I worry.  I am probably just worrying to much.  So I understand at this point my daughter must have passed her initial testing/times so I assume at this time she is on track. I guess this could change at anytime if she fails anything and needs to be pushed back?  We have not received an actual letter from her but felt some relief when we received the form letter.

I think it is just the not knowing that is worrisome:)

Luvbug1!1, yes, she has passed the initial PFA since you have a form letter. Unless she calls you and says that she has been ASMO'd (set back), then she is on track to have PIR on 07/13/2018. Join PIR: July 13, 2018 TG 36. You will probably be receiving a "real" letter this week since she would have had holiday routine for the first time on Sunday and was able to write. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

I left more info for you on your My Page.
