WARNING - Before you start reading (or seeing the pictures) go get a full box of tissues or a roll of tp.

Thanks to a mom on this site (Yea N4M's and Susan), I got to be at the USS Truman homecoming!! What an experience!!! Talk about mixed emotions!! You will be crying one minute and then laughing with "strangers" the next!! If you have someone in the Navy, we are FAMILY - just us here at N4M's are closer "kin" with each other!!!

If you ever have a chance to watch a ship come in off deployment - do what you have to do to be there!!

Someone sets up a party the night before (which I did not attend) and a tent for the new mothers to be in if the babies dad has NEVER HELD HIS OWN BABY!! Now, most of us on here have delivered children. Can you even imagine going through labor and delivery (or a C-section) without your baby's dadddy there??? Mine is now an ex- but I was glad he was there when they were born (one other time I was glad he was there :) He was not much on changing diapers, but he did love to hold those newborn baby boys!!! The dads on the Truman were not there to experience the bonding at birth, see the first smile, (sorry, can't even think - crying too much). He did not get to be there because he was out protecting everyone in the USA!!! (appreciated or not!!)

The sailors get to get off the ship in order of their ranking!!!

The new dads got to go first!!!! (About 20 - 30 minutes before anyone else!!) That alone made me cry. They put them off the ship even before all the ladders were in place (I did not see it, I was running back and forth between friends).
Thank you to the US Navy for knowing the importance of families!!!

Well, I just wanted to post some pictures that I got of these new dads and their babies. ANYONE that wants a CD of the Truman Homecoming photos, just give me an address and I will get them to you - especially, if you know of someone in a photo.

Can't wait to feel his first tooth!!!

"Look Sissy, our Daddy's home!!!"

Can't Get Enough - First Smell !!! (This is the one that gets to me - I love to smell a new baby!!!)

A big Bravo Zulu to these Navy Mom's!!!!

Yep, Kleenex is required! The emotions of a homecoming for a ship that has been deployed never leave you. That is truly an emotional roller coaster! Even leading up to it's arrival, waiting for the phone tree to be activated to say...yes - they really will be in.

Somehow we timed our babies deliveries just right so my husband was with me in both cases but for all those new dads meeting their babies for the very first time - truly a tear jerker. So much love on the pier at one time - it's a beautiful thing.

Wow- I can't imagine watching a ship come in with my son on it - much less my husband - especially if I was holding his new baby!!
