For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Friday!

I finally get to see my son on Friday and am so excited to see him graduate from boot camp! Still a bit confused as to how much time we will have with him following the ceremony, but we will take what we can get. So incredibly proud of my Sailor!

Comment by My2kidz on October 28, 2015 at 12:27pm: Bravo Zulu to you and your sailor! PIR is a wonderful experience. How much time you get depends on if they are staying in GL for A school or not. If they are staying you will have a little time right after graduation and then they will have to check in to their new ship which can take a few hours. After that you will have them until Fri evening around 9 or 10 and then on Sat and Sun from around 8 or 9 in the morning to 9 or 10 in the evening. If they are shipping straight out you will normally be able to take them straight from PIR and have them all day. They will be told when they need to return. You can then usually meet them at the airport they will be flying out of. They will have details at PIR and will know when they need to be back. Sometimes you get lucky and they don't leave straight away so you may have time on Sat or even Sunday. Flexibility is key!

Comment by Lizzy0206 on October 30, 2015 at 1:50pm: If they go to school anywhere other than Chicago, plan on seeing them from the end of graduation until around 7/730. We were able to go out to eat and then just went back to the hotel to visit, not much time for anything else. Both my boys had school in Florida and left early Saturday morning. You are able to meet them at the airport and wait with them. I had to bring clothes, phones and whatever else they wanted to the airport since they can't have anything at the barracks. If you have to go to the airport plan on being there early am, like 2am.
