Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in November, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

(Group names within this comment are clickable links. To join a group, click on the group name and after the group page opens, click on "+ Join..." in the upper right.)

Also, check your My Page.

Ruddgirl, hi I hope your going better. Today has been a week that my son left, I also call him forget that he's not here lol, but you know what I now know that he made his own smart dicision and I'm proud of that. We as parents hurt because of course, they are a piece of us. Little birds, they grow wings and have to learn to fly. It's hard just the fact that we can't have any contact with them, to see how they are doing, but besides that I know they couldn't be in better hands. I would feel the same if he would have done his first choice which was going far to his choice of university. I did not have surgery, and I do hope you get well soon. I did find out I was pregnant before he left, this would be my 3rd son. After 14 years I'm pregnant, and he was happy and also sad knowing that he would not be here when I deliver. So, Ruddgirl, how are you doing? Is your surgery helping you better? I hope so. Take care, and let's just unite and pray for our boys. They will be fine, and all we can do is make sure they know that they have our support. Be blessed

http://callsforrecruits.org/navy-boot-camp-day-to-day/ This is a good site, they even sent us 8 free 20 minute phone cards (2 for my son to give to SRs without) my son shipped just last week. This is an opportunity like no other for them :) hang in there. Love to you both.

Congrats and welcome! Don't worry the time will go by so fast for you both. Don't expect lots of chatter they are usually very exhausted. Keep your phone on you at all times they will call at random times. Stay strong!

MADre, Phone Cards and Phone Calls will tell you when calls are most likely to come and also tell you some times when you can relax and know that you most likely will not miss a call.
